Story
Petie is a loyal and loving Lhasa Poodle mix who devotes himself to his person with great passion. He is your forever friend and partner no matter what (maybe a bit obsessive lol) once he’s bonded. He will be very protective and may not be ideal for someone who has a lot of visitors. He has NEVER bitten anyone but he can be intimidating. He’s approximately 15 lbs and is 7 years old. Petie is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Petie’s adoption fee is $275. This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. All dogs also leave with a new collar and or harness and leash as well as a gift bag which includes among other things, a starter bag of the quality kibble that is being fed at the rescue. Adoption fees also allow us the ability to put funds towards the next homeless or unwanted dog in need of rescue! If you would like to be considered to for this adoption or any of our amazing rescues, please fill out the application with the help of this link. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/AZST/Dog. We review each application carefully. Please understand that sometimes we get numerous applications for specific dogs and as a volunteer-based rescue, we do not always have the time to respond to each one. We do our best to choose the most suitable home for each dog based on their specific personality and needs. Please note you MAY NOT be contacted for up to 10 days to schedule a meet and greet if your family is the most suitable for this rescue dog. Regrettably, we do not have the manpower currently to contact all applicants. We keep ALL applications in our database so please feel free to contact us when you see another dog of interest. We appreciate all applicants and do our best to pair every dog and family for a successful and happy life.

Story
Percy came to us as a stray. He was found walking around our neighborhood and we were unable to find his owners even after posting him all over social media and lost pet sites as well as walking him around our neighborhood in hopes he would lead us to a house. We even went door to door in the area he was found and no one recognized him. He is microchipped but the owners information is an old previous owner and they did not have the contact info for the new owners. Percy is probably around 10 years old from the vet’s estimates. He is timid and shy at first but a very sweet and docile dog. He does great with my teenagers as well as my toddler and baby although sometimes he tries to run away from them. He is house trained and when the weather was cooler there were nights that he wanted to sleep outside so we would let him. We unfortunately already have 2 other dogs and the 4 kids and we just don’t have the time or attention to give to another dog. He is the sweetest!

Story
Meet Rudy (AKA Rudy the Cutie) This 7‑year‑old, 8‑pound terrier boy recently lost his person, and he’s been bravely learning that life can be joyful again. With each passing day, Rudy is rediscovering fun, connection, and all the routines that make a dog feel safe and loved. Rudy’s best qualities: • Great eater and motivated by treats • Walks beautifully on leash • Potties outside • Curious about toys • Seeks human affection and connection • LOVES walks — he’s surprisingly athletic for a little guy • Good with other dogs • Shy at first but warms up quickly with kindness (and snacks) • Happy tail‑wagger • Not a barker Rudy bonds deeply with his humans and may express some separation anxiety with howling when left alone. He’s not being “naughty” — he just loves his people and is still adjusting to big changes in his life. With patience, routine, and reassurance, he’ll continue to grow more confident. If you’re looking for a sweet, sensitive companion who wants nothing more than to be by your side — on walks, on the couch, or anywhere love is offered — Rudy the Cutie might be your perfect match. 🧡 To view videos, click on links:https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1GBN8SDVCP/?mibextid=wwXIfrhttps://www.facebook.com/share/r/1BwvQqGJFX/?mibextid=wwXIfrhttps://www.facebook.com/share/r/18a2fRhNhn/?mibextid=wwXIfr https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1EdTh2qwQn/?mibextid=wwXIfr https://www.facebook.com/share/r/1SbqX7kdLw/?mibextid=wwXIfr Rudy is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Story
Theo is a wonderful dog who was given up by his owners because they were unable to train him not to bark at strangers. They stated that he wasn’t “cuddly” and they never bonded with him. We have continually worked on this and he is a smart boy who learns quickly. Unfortunately, their frustrations with him may have resulted in inappropriate treatment. We are also working with him on his fearfulness. He was adopted initially at the age of 8 weeks and his owners had him for 4 years. Theo is a personal favorite of mine at the rescue and I think he’s very special. We really want to see him get a patient and understanding person or family. Theo is a great size for hiking and long walks. Is he the boy for you? Theo is a coated dog (hair grows continuously) and will need professional grooming every 6-8 weeks. Theo’s adoption fee is $300 This fee includes at least one health exam at our veterinarian while in our care, altering, all vaccinations including rabies (as permitted by age), a pre-adoption professional grooming and a microchip with lifetime membership that never will cost you a fee. Jedi is a 1-year-old, 11-pound sweetheart looking for a loving family with a little patience and a lot of love to give. He can be a bit shy at first, but he warms up quickly once he feels safe and comfortable. Women tend to win him over almost immediately! More than anything, Jedi loves people and wants to be close to his humans. He is crate trained, housebroken, and very well-mannered in the home. Story
Honey is approximately 3 years old and such a cutie! We adopted her about a year ago from AZ Small Dog Rescue. She is cuddly, playful, friendly, adorable! She is house-trained and will sit for food. She appears aggressive with other dogs initially but will then calm down and be fine. She has been successful at Doggy Daycare numerous times. She has bitten on a couple of occasions when she felt trapped or cuddled too tightly.
