Sammy's life wasn't the greatest when he arrived in the rescue. At only 2 years old he is a retired puppy mill dog. He currently weights about 20 lbs. His life was spent living in a kennel pumping out puppies for the mill owner. When he was no longer needed, he was discarded. We pulled him into the rescue to start him on a brand-new life! According to his foster he "lives life on his terms". He will require another doggy friend or two in his new home to help him succeed with living in a real "home" . He does seem to prefer men over women. Sammy will require a fully fenced yard (more than 4' tall) to keep him safe as he will escape if given the opportunity! He has typical puppy mill behavior - not too sure of strangers at first - is mostly afraid of everything new. He is good on a leash, does not like a crate, and has very few/rare potty accidents! He does not live with children and being a mill dog it would be best with no children in the home. He does live with cats, dogs and farm animals and does very well with them. Patience is the key to Sammy's world...If you feel you have that and would love to give this very deserving pup a new chance in life, please follow the link below for his adoption application. He is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations and on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention. Hello, everyone! My name is Tater!I’m a 5.5-year-old Bichon Frise/Poodle mix, and I’m quite the distinguished little gentleman. I’m sweet, well-mannered, easygoing, and just an all-around lovely boy to have around.I recently came to FDHS with my brother and best friend, Tot. We’ve always been together, so we’re hoping to find a family who will let us continue life as a pair. We’re both such good boys, and there’s even a discount for adopting us together!We’re friendly with other animals and have very low-key personalities. We haven’t had much experience with children, but we’d likely do well with older or calmer kiddos who can appreciate our quiet, gentle nature. As a curly-coated king, I’ll need regular grooming to keep my coat looking and feeling its best. It’s a little extra upkeep, but I think a gentleman should always look his best.Tot and I were surrendered through no fault of our own, and we’re now ready to find a loving home! If you’re looking for two sweet, well-mannered boys to keep you company, we’d love to meet you.

Well hello there! I’m Tot.At 5.5 years old, I’ve learned a thing or two about the finer things in life: good company, a comfortable place to relax, and having your favorite person nearby. I’m a little gentleman with a sweet disposition and a wonderfully easygoing personality.I came to FDHS with my brother, Tater, after our family could no longer care for us. We’re best friends and have always been together, so we’re hoping our next home will have room for both of us. We’re quite a lovely little pair, and there’s even a discount for adopting us together!I’m a friendly fellow who gets along well with other animals and doesn’t need a whole lot of excitement to be happy. I haven’t had much experience with children, so I’d likely be most comfortable with older or calmer kiddos. I’ll also need regular grooming to keep my coat in tip-top shape. I’m a rather handsome fellow, and I intend to stay that way.More than anything, I’m ready for a family to call my own again. Tater and I have been through a big change, but we’re both such good boys, and I’m hoping our next chapter is just around the corner!
