Story
At 16 years old, this golden girl, Pixie, knows what she wants. Don't let her age fool you, she's got plenty of spunk in her. She is very treat / food motivated...probably mostly because she is on a diet right now to shed a little weight. :-)She is potty-trained and will go on short walks on a leash. She has a cute little begging ritual when you are eating that lasts for a minute or two, then she just lays down. She's got a couple of issues that come naturally with aging. She doesn't see or hear very well, but gets up and down small amounts of stairs just fine. Her hearing loss is believed to be from chronic ear infections which are now cleared up. She also has chronic dry eyes and requires drops several times a day. She is very cooperative in getting her drops. Her favorite things to do (besides eat) are laying in the sun outside, sleeping on her bed or next to you on the couch. She is a dog that will need grooming (hair cuts) especially around face. She would be a great companion for someone who can spend time with her during the day. If interested please fill out the application on our website and her foster mom will be in touch. Story
Meet THUNDER BOLT! How cute is his scruffy hair. Thunder walks well on a leash so he would be perfect to take him out on walks. His adopters will have to be mindful of how he greets other dogs because he can get a little overwhelmed easily, he would do best in a home with older kids and no other animals but will be mans best friend! Will be great in a home with a cat as well. He will need a patient adopter to continue to work with him and socialize. The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is one of the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone! Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no choice but to euthanize animals for space. We prepare them for adoption by properly vetting and providing individualized care through our incredible behavior program that consists of socialization and leash training for all animals that enter our adoption program prior to matching them with loving families who will treasure them for the rest of their lives. They are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts once adopted, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be! Three Little Pitties Rescue will soon be celebrating our 5 year anniversary! Over the course of this time, we have been very fortunate for so much growth, allowing us to further connect with the community and save many lives. Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 10,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be brought into our rescue program. Together, we can be heroes.
