Story
Luna is almost 7. We adopted her ~3 years ago. She jumped right into our laps. Since then, we've enjoyed countless hours of love and cuddles with her. The hard part: Luna has *severe* separation anxiety (barking). Over the past 3 years, we've tried behavioral intervention programs & medications. She's always had a village around to care for her. We love this little dog with all our hearts but we've run out of options for constant pet care, strategies for addressing her anxieties, and financial flexibility. Luna needs people with some or all of the following: 24/7 access to dogsitters and/or WFH, family/community that can pitch in, and a deep well of patience. Something that's vital is that she does not do well in a city environment - too much stimulus. She requires a rural or quiet suburban home to have peace of mind. Although she has no shortage of anxieties, Luna is overflowing with love and affection for people. We hope you'll consider being her new family.

Story
Meet Maxie, he is a goofy, friendly and very loving Lhasa Apso, maybe purebred, maybe part Ewok or even teddy bear. 16 pounds at 3.5 years of age. Housebroken, will tolerate an xpen (currently scared of crates) and a delight to have in the house. He loves laps, toys, fetch, more laps and his walk (and will probably be happiest in the owner's bed at night-sorry to those who don't want him there). Warmed up to the woman in the house much faster than the man, but now loves them both so he needs to be adopted quickly so the man of the house stops saying we should foster fail. He must be adoped by someone who believes in only positive reinforcement training. He will not thrive with forceful methods. There is a bit of a back story to him which will be shared when we chat. Because our dogs are in foster homes, applications are required prior to setting up any appointments. Calling or emailing may delay your consideration. Find our application on our website, almosthomedogs.org. Adoption Fee is $450. All of our dogs will be microchipped. We are a non profit no kill 501 (c)3 rescue. Please understand that we do our best to describe our dogs but often we rescue them with virtually no information about them and often our best educated guess can be challenging. Currently check or cash is preferred payment.
