Story
Meet Prince! Prince is a lovable, one-eyed charmer with a heart full of affection and a talent for making friends wherever he goes. At just 5 years old, this sweet Lhasa Apso mix is happiest when he's surrounded by people, soaking up attention, and collecting as many belly rubs as possible. From the moment you meet him, Prince is ready to win you over. He loves everyone he meets and isn't shy about asking for affection. His signature move? Rolling onto his back for belly rubs and flashing a smile that makes it impossible not to fall in love with him. Prince is a lower-energy companion who would much rather cuddle on the couch than spend hours chasing toys. He enjoys being close to his people and thrives on companionship. In fact, being with his humans is what makes him feel safest and happiest. Because of this, Prince is looking for a home where someone is around much of the day. He is currently struggling with separation anxiety, which may improve once he's settled into a stable home environment, but he will need an adopter who is patient, understanding, and committed to helping him build confidence. Apartment living may not be the best fit, as he can be quite vocal when feeling stressed. Prince has overcome challenges before. He lost an eye after being bitten by another dog earlier in life, but it hasn't slowed him down one bit. These days, his permanent wink only adds to his charm and makes him even more unforgettable. He is also very food motivated, making him an excellent candidate for positive reinforcement training and continued confidence-building. He uses potty pads reliably and tries his best to hold it until he's let outside. Prince does have some ongoing medical needs, including management of mild skin issues, treatment for anxiety, and a dental cleaning that will be needed in the near future. His future family should be prepared to continue his routine care to keep him happy and comfortable. Prince's ideal home is one filled with love, attention, and plenty of belly rubs. He's looking for someone who wants a constant companion, a loyal sidekick, and a dog who will happily remind you every day just how much he loves you. If you're searching for a sweet, affectionate dog who wants nothing more than to be by your side, Prince may be the perfect fit. Prince is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped.

Story
Meet Flash! Hi there! My name is Flash, and I’m a 10-year-old, 12-pound Lhasa Apso (or something close to it!) with a big personality packed into a little body. I’m a social guy who truly loves everyone I meet—no warm-up period needed! I’ve been around children ages four and up and do great with them. In fact, one of my favorite parts of the day is when the kids get home from school—I get so excited to see them and join in on the fun! I’m a well-mannered gentleman with great house habits. I’m house trained and prefer lounging on my cozy dog bed over spending time in a crate. I walk nicely on a leash and really enjoy getting out for strolls where I can take my time sniffing, exploring, and checking out the world around me. I even like water, so maybe there are some beach adventures in my future! When it comes to other dogs, I do best with calm, respectful companions. Dogs that are too dominant or “in your face” can make me a little nervous, so I’d love a laid-back canine friend—or to be your one and only. My vision isn’t perfect, but don’t worry—I get around just fine! I may see shadows here and there, but I navigate my world confidently and don’t bump into things. I’m neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped, so I’m all set for my next chapter. If you’re looking for a sweet, friendly, easygoing companion to share your days with, I might just be your guy. I came into rescue after a nice lady kept seeing me tied up outside a local tire shop. I would just lay on the concrete all day. My new people talked the owner of the tire shop into letting me have a better life by finding a new family. That was no way for me to live. Berry is a little dog with a big personality! Berry is playful, spunky, and adores going for walks, playing with toys, and being around his people. Berry can be selective about new friends, so he's looking for experienced adopters who can help continue working on his manners with positive reinforcement and patience. Berry is looking for an adult only home with no other pets, and he is not a fit for an apartment or condo. If you're ready to open up your heart and home to this pup, reach out to us to learn more about him! *Berry has a slightly longer adoption process than our other dogs. If you're interested in learning more about him, you can email adoption@homewardpet.org. *

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED Meet Bentley! Bentley is a 4-year-old, 10 LB Terrier/Lhasa Apso mix who came to us as a stray from an overcrowded shelter in CA. This little guy is sweet, cuddly, and loving with his people once he feels safe — but he does take time to open up and trust. Because of this, Bentley is looking for a very special home that can give him patience, structure, and stability. Bentley will need an adult-only household in a calmer, quieter environment. A bustling, busy home or small children would be too overwhelming for him. He enjoys going on walks and would love a quieter neighborhood where he can explore without too much stress. Once he has bonded with his person, he becomes incredibly loyal, affectionate, and loves to curl up for snuggles. Bentley does well with other dogs, but tends to prefer smaller dogs to larger ones. He can be shy and may fear nip when he’s uncomfortable, so he will need an experienced, dog-savvy adopter who understands shy or fearful pups and can give him the space and time he needs to decompress. Underneath his initial shyness, Bentley is playful, goofy, and full of love. With the right home — one that is calm, predictable, and patient — Bentley will blossom into a fun and affectionate little companion who bonds deeply to his person. Bentley is UTD vaccinations, microchipped, and neutered. His adoption fee is $500.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please go to our website for all specific information about this dog.  Our info doesn't transfer over to the adoption sites.   This dog came to us via an eastern WA shelter after being taken from a property with about 45 dogs on it.  They only knew that place so have been shy initially in new places and with new people.  Please expect this if considering one of these dogs/puppies.   Her coat does not need to be cut like a hair dog but we did it to when she came in to start her over with a fresh start due to her unkept coat.  Her coat is a medium length mix of a flully and scruffy.  There were a lot of scruffy terriers on the property but her color resembles a lhasa mix but is likely just the coat color she ended up with in that huge mix of heinz 57 small breed mixes.   She is a shy but gentle girl.  She will thrive with a quieter home and someone who will continue to make her feel safe and well cared for.  She was great for the groomer and vet staff too.  Loudness and chaos scares her.  Since she won't readily go up to people, she must be leashed outside and often inside.  She will stay just out of reach.  It will be a journey and only time and consistency will do the trick.  Keeping her safe until she reaches a safe spot with you is mandatory for success. If you can continue to shower her with love, kindness, training and all she needs and deserves, please submit our adoption application to get the process started.    Prior to adoption, our dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and parasite treated/prevented.   Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 14, 2026, 4:44 pm
