Story
At just 7 years old, Kitty is a fun loving, playful, and affectionate girl with the sweetest personality. She can be a little shy when first meeting new people and is sometimes more reserved around men, but with patience and kindness, she warms up quickly and becomes a devoted cuddle buddy. Her current foster mom says, `Her playful personality comes out more each day, and she’s incredibly smart, well-mannered, and clearly has been deeply loved.`She gets along beautifully with the cats in her previous foster home and loves playing with dogs of all sizes from 18 to 75 lbs. In fact, she has not met an animal she does not want to befriend! Kitty enjoys walks, playing with stuffy or squeaky toys, chewing on bones, and relaxing in the evenings cuddled up with her person. She adores her humans and will even “talk” to you and listen when you speak to her. She has also done well on car rides, handling them calmly. At home, she enjoys snuggling on the couch in the evenings and sleeps soundly through the night with her person, even during storms. When Kitty first came to us, she needed urgent surgery for severe bladder stones that went untreated for some time, which affected her bladder control. She’s made great progress and is continuing to improve, but because of the severity and how long it lasted, she may always need more frequent potty breaks about every few hours and may not regain 100% control. The good news is she’s very good about using potty pads when left alone. With a consistent routine and understanding, she can still do very well in a home. During the workday at her foster home, she is gated in her own room with a bed, water, and pee pads and only uses the potty pads. When her foster mom leaves for work and mostly sleeps while she’s away for 6–8 hours. With regular potty breaks every 2–3 hours, her bladder control has been very manageable. She also does great wearing washable diapers when needed. To keep her healthy, Kitty will need to stay on a prescription diet for life to prevent new stones from forming. She enjoys her Purina Pro Plan UR kibble mixed with a bit of wet food twice a day, and her monthly food cost is about $30 to $40. She will also need check ups twice a year to monitor her bladder health and ensure everything stays on track.Kitty is a sweet, smart, and resilient companion who has adapted beautifully to foster care and is ready for a forever home where she can feel secure, loved, and settled. To lear
