Story
Meet Pancake, a sweet 11-year-old, 11 pound Maltese mix with a gentle spirit and the biggest heart. When Pancake first arrived, he was shy and unsure, often backing away when approached or when it was time for his leash. With patience, love, and reassurance, he slowly learned he was safe. Once that trust clicked, everything changed. Pancake began leaning in for pets, asking for affection, and soaking up every bit of attention he could get. While he is not a high energy guy, Pancake loves being part of the action. He does great on daily walks, enjoys hikes, and is happy tagging along with his people wherever the day takes them. He walks nicely on leash and truly loves feeling included. For a senior pup, he keeps up like a champ. He has also been working hard on his house training and has made wonderful progress in a short amount of time. Pancake may bark when he needs to go outside or wants attention, and since he is very food motivated, continued training is both fun and rewarding. Pancake gets along beautifully with other dogs and is a gentle, easygoing companion. He started out sleeping comfortably in his crate but has since graduated to his foster’s bed, a big milestone for a pup who once kept his distance. He is the perfect blend of calm, cuddly, and quietly adventurous. Pancake may have begun his journey a little unsure, but now he is ready to spend his golden years loving and being loved.
