How this pet arrived: Koko was brought in by his previous owner on October 18, 2026. Why this pet is the one for you:Meet Koko! Koko is a gentle, thoughtful pup whose sweet personality is starting to blossom a little more every day. He is a sensitive soul who can be quite shy when meeting new people, but with a little extra time and a lot of heart, his charm really begins to shine through. Once he feels safe and tucked under your wing, you'll start to see just how special and sweet this boy truly is. To help Koko feel his most confident, he is looking for a home with another friendly, confident dog of a similar size. Having a canine companion by his side helps him feel secure and gives him a wonderful "role model" to show him the ropes of everyday dog life. If you have a resident pup at home, we'll set up a meet-and-greet on-site to make sure they're going to be the best of friends! A quieter, "low-speed" household will suit Koko best. He thrives in a calm environment with a steady routine and not too much hustle and bustle. Because Koko is still building his confidence and isn't quite ready for leash walks yet, he'll need a home with a secure, private outdoor space where he can stretch his legs and feel safe. He has also proven to be a bit of a clever escape artist when he's feeling restless, so having a secure and predictable spot for him to relax will be key. If there are kids in your family, we find that a "vibe check" with children 12 and older works best to ensure everyone feels comfortable and happy. Building a bond with Koko is a rewarding journey that unfolds over time. He'll need a patient start with plenty of high-value treats and low-pressure interactions-letting him come to you on his own terms is the best way to earn his trust. I got sparky around a year ago. He has his first round of shots, but we have not got him his second round. He is a super energetic dog and loves to be outside. He is good with other dogs but sometimes can overwhelm older dogs due that energy. He does not do well on a leash and needs to be trained in that area. He tends to overreact to a little kid riding a skateboard or someone suddenly passing by who he didn't see. He is harmless and has never bit anyone. I did play rough with him as a baby so he's used to some rough play. He is very treat motivated. He also can be motivated by his toys. Overall he's a great companion and requires a lot of attention.
