Story
Cassidy, a sweet Soft-coated Wheaten Terrier, is a bonded pair with Chance, a Yorkie-Poo. She is 12 years old, female, spayed, chipped and was purchased from a breeder. She is great on a leash, crate trained, knows come, sit, down but we have not been able to house break her unless she is confined to a specific area. She loves other dogs and kids though she can be excitable at first and might knock down little ones. Cassidy isn't a great match if you have free range chickens.Chance is a 10 year old, neutered male, chipped, we are his third home. Great leash walker, not great with crates, he is itty bitty (~5lbs) and made a great emotional support pet for our children who have since grown and moved out. Great with kids, cats, and loves to be carried around!

These pups are in Boulder, Colorado too!

Meet Charlie Nine Years Young and Still Ready for Adventure—Charlie Is Looking for His Forever Home ❤️ Breed: Poodle Mix Gender: Male | Age: 8/12/2017 | Weight/Size: 12 lbs (Small) Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Cats unknown | Kids ✔️ | Very Friendly with Everyone Medical: Vaccination Status: Not Provided | Neuter Status: Not Provided | Microchip Status: Not Provided Special Home Requirement: Charlie needs a home with a secure yard Location: Los Angeles, California Transportation: Ozzie and Friends Rescue provides safe transportation to approved adopters throughout the United States. ❤️ Personality, Breed Information & Charlie's Story Charlie may be nine years old, but don't tell him he's supposed to be a senior! This happy little guy is active, outgoing, and full of life, with plenty of adventures still ahead of him. Charlie came to rescue after being surrendered by his previous owner. After spending years knowing the comfort of a home, suddenly having his life change was understandably a major transition. Through no fault of his own, Charlie now finds himself searching for a new family at a time in his life when he deserves stability more than ever. Fortunately, Charlie hasn't let this change his wonderful outlook on life. He is an exceptionally friendly, social, and affectionate dog who enjoys meeting just about everyone. Charlie loves attention and companionship and is happiest when he's included in whatever his people are doing. He has the confidence of a mature dog but still has an energetic, playful side that keeps life interesting. Charlie especially enjoys being outside, exploring, playing, and having room to move around. A secure yard is important for Charlie's future home, giving this active little guy a safe place to enjoy the outdoors in addition to his regular walks and family activities. At the end of an active day, Charlie is just as happy settling down with his people and enjoying some affection. He offers a wonderful balance for someone who wants a smaller dog but isn't necessarily looking for a couch potato. As a Poodle Mix, Charlie is intelligent, people-oriented, and eager to interact with his family. Poodles are known for being exceptionally smart and trainable dogs that enjoy both physical activity and mental stimulation. Even as an older adult, Charlie will benefit from opportunities to explore, learn, and stay engaged. Charlie would thrive with a family that can provide: A securely fenced yard Daily walks and regular outdoor time Plenty of companionship and affection Interactive toys and mental enrichment Positive reinforcement training A predictable daily routine Regular grooming and coat maintenance A safe indoor home where he's part of the family A lifelong commitment through his senior years Charlie has already lost one home. What he needs now isn't a temporary place to stay—he needs a family ready to make sure his next home is truly forever. Training, Adjustment & What to Expect Charlie has the advantage of being a mature adult dog, but moving into a new home is still a significant adjustment. Even dogs who have previously lived with families need time to understand their new surroundings, routines, and expectations. Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule: 3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe 3 Weeks to understand his new household routine 3 Months to fully settle in and feel that he's truly home At nine years old, Charlie is still active and should continue receiving regular physical and mental stimulation. A yard will give him a wonderful place to explore and enjoy himself, but it shouldn't replace walks and activities with his family. Charlie will benefit from: Positive reinforcement training Daily walks and outdoor exploration Consistent household routines Interactive toys and enrichment Plenty of family interaction Patience as he adjusts to his new home With stability and affection, Charlie should have no trouble showing his new family just how much love this little guy still has to give. Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care At nine years old, Charlie is entering his senior years, making consistent preventative veterinary care especially important. His adopter should be prepared to provide: Regular veterinary wellness examinations Senior bloodwork and health screenings as recommended by his veterinarian Routine vaccinations Flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite prevention Routine dental examinations and dental care A nutritious diet appropriate for his age and activity level Daily exercise to help maintain mobility and a healthy weight Regular professional grooming and at-home coat maintenance Mental stimulation and enrichment Veterinary care whenever illness or injury occurs A safe, comfortable indoor home Poodle mixes require regular grooming to prevent uncomfortable matting. His future family should be prepared for brushing at home and professional grooming approximately every 6–8 weeks, depending on his coat. Adoption Information If you are interested in adopting Charlie, please complete an adoption application at: https://www.ozzieandfriendsrescue.org/adoptions Thank you for considering adoption through Ozzie and Friends Rescue, a Los Angeles-based nonprofit dedicated to giving deserving dogs a second chance at loving homes. Every application is carefully reviewed to help ensure the best possible match between each dog and their future family. Although we are based in Los Angeles, California, we proudly coordinate safe and reliable transportation for approved adopters throughout the United States. Charlie isn't looking to slow down—he's looking for someone to enjoy life with. After losing the home he knew, this friendly little guy deserves to spend his next chapter exploring his own yard, going on adventures, and coming home every night knowing that this time, he's home for good. ❤️August 11, 2026, 3:42 pm

Story
Whenever a sweet and engaging smaller dog gets into an urgent situation, Farfel's rescuers like to help. We find that these smaller dogs make great family companions because they tend to be loving, intelligent, fun-loving and goofy best friends. They're known for becoming, once comfortable in their environment, very bonded and devoted family companions. Meela, once settled in with her new Colorado family, will make an excellent best friend for all age groups as well as gentle canines. Meela is a cuddly and very sweet 5ish year old, 13 lb Shih Tzu / Maltese Terrier mix. This breed mix was identified by a Texas veterinarian. We can't swear to it, but what we do know is that she's the sweetest girl ever and will make an excellent family member for a dog-crazy Colorado family. Meela is very puppyish in her enthusiasm for all people that are kind to her. She has a love of life and positive attitude that warms the heart. After all, his very deserving girl has become a victim of circumstance in her life. Farfel's Rescue is committed to changing this trajectory for this little dog that has so much to offer a committed and dog-crazy family. Rescue dogs can initially be a bit shy or nervous. This is expected in light of the very long transports and stresses of rehoming. When an adopting family is sensitive to the challenges of change and acclimation for these dog's, the transition is far easier. A home with a very loving and nurturing family that understands that blossoming takes time would be perfect for our Meela. Socialization, pure love and belly rubs are gifts to a dog that is undergoing a life change. Given the time and space, these dogs shine. Meela is one of these pups that is a blank slate just waiting for the commitment of a great family. Her love will know no bounds as she becomes a best friend and very loyal companion. Group obedience training classes with a positive reinforcement trainer would serve both Meela and her family (as it does every dog and their people). Together they will learn the skills to have our sweet girl be a companion that is well-behaved when out in the world. It also creates strong bonds of respect between pup and family. We feel so strongly about the importance of professional force-free / positive reinforcement training that we're unwilling to adopt Meela out to a family that doesn't choose this opportunity. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of positive reinforcement / force-free trainers in your area. Meela is such a great age and size. At 5 years old, Meela is at perfect stage in her life - young enough to be a blank slate open to training and new concepts while being old enough to have left most of her babyish behaviors behind. At 13 lbs, Meela is a perfect size for neighborhood walks (she's a very social girl once comfortable), mountain hikes , shopping or dining along Pearl Street or just hanging out at home enjoying the love and companionship of her family. We envision active, dog-loving retirees as a great family for our sweet girl. Meela would be thrilled with the time often spent with their dogs by this group. Meela would also do great with a younger family that works from a home-based office to love her up periodically throughout the day. Meela enjoys kids as great playmates and night time snugglers (kids a bit older are desirable so no tail-pulling or awkward handling occurs) and would thrive with the fun and special kind of love that children provide. We feel that Meela is too sensitive a girl to spend long hours alone while her family works full-time outside of the home. Meela has a beautiful non-shedding coat that is currently a bit sad. With a lifelong commitment to sudsy baths, grooming and great nutrition Meela's coat will become very healthy, cottony-soft and shining with excellent health. Meela has been fully vetted and vaccinated to receive her interstate health certificate. She has also been spayed to support the need for help with the challenging dog overpopulation challenge. Meela is arriving on transport in on Wednesday 10/14/2020 . Applications are currently being accepted for our sweet Terrier. If interested in this beautiful ...and very cuddly and loving best friend, please fill out our application completely at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ and submit. **PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Peaches please be sure to fill out the Farfel's Rescue adoption application that can be found at the link above or at farfels.com. Rescue site applications such as Adoptapet, Rescueme and Petfinder don't provide enough information for our purposes. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving pup We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit a Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue. .
