Story
This sweet, high‑energy boy is sunshine wrapped in fur. He adores people, loves adventure, and greets every day with a full‑body tail wag. Doodle is the kind of dog who will happily join you on hikes, zoom around the house and yard, and then curl up beside you for snuggle time. Your lap is his favorite spot. Doodle is about 2 yrs old (but acts like a puppy), and he weighs 12 lbs. He has soft creamy curls with a touch of milk chocolate on his ears, down his back, and on the tip of his tail. He’s smart, eager to learn, and thrives with structure and activity. Doodle would do best with an active family who enjoys playtime and can help him channel his enthusiasm into fun training and exercise. He’s a total lovebug who just wants to be someone’s best friend. So, if you want a dog who brings laughter, love, and endless zoomies, Doodle is your guy! If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Doodle, the first step is to submit an adoption application. Story
***Rosey is currently in Roseville CA, but we are trying to find a way to get her to Las Vegas to another K9BFF foster home and her spay. If you can help to transport her to Las Vegas from Roseville, please let us know.*** We rescued Rosey from a SoCal shelter two days after giving birth to 5 pups. Rosey is white, has slightly curly long Maltese hair, with Westie-type ears that stick up, and we're guessing she's about 3-4 years old. She weighs 18 pounds now and has pretty much gained her weight back from nursing. She was very thin when she first arrived, but she's good now and happy about it. Lots of energy and opinions. When she arrived, she was scared, timid and shy, but quickly wanted to be held. Rosey quickly bonded with her foster mom and the other household members. She greets strangers first with a bark, then a sniff, then she calms down and gets in their laps. Funny, it surprises people when she plops in their lap unexpectedly. She LOVES sleeping with her foster mom and the other two resident dogs. Although she's back to her normal weight, her hair is still sparse, which is probably due to poor nutrition prior to coming into rescue. She's been eating lots of good and healthy food in her foster home, but with nursing moms, most of the nutrition goes to the puppies. Now that the pups have been weaned, Rosey's hair is starting to fill out nicely. She's been a great mom and took very good care of her babies. Rosey is timid at first and will need some help with confidence building: lots of pets and encouragement and being able to be near you a lot at first until she gets used to her new environment. A regular routine is key to helping dogs feel safe, and is key to training Rosey. She finds comfort in knowing what to expect and routine creates this. Whoever adopts Rosey must want a dog that wants to be with their human all the time -- a velcro dog.... :) Rosey will make someone a wonderful, sweet and affectionate companion. Like all dogs who go into a new environment, you will need to gently potty train her so she will learn your expectations, where and when to go. Also, walking on leash is new to her, but with some patience and encouragement she will learn to love her walks. If you are interested in meeting and possibly adopting Rosey, the first step is to submit an adoption application. Please go to our website www.k9bestfriendsforever.com and click on "Adopt" which will take you to our online application form.
