Story
Benji is a 1.5-year-old Poodle mix, possibly a Bichpoo, Maltipoo, or a mix of both. This sweet boy was rescued thanks to a kind-hearted Good Samaritan who stepped in when his previous family was close to abandoning him at a park. She reached out to us for help finding him the loving and patient home he truly deserves.
While we do not know Benji’s full story, we can assume he experienced neglect and possible abuse in the past. When Benji first came to us, he was extremely fearful of people and new environments, and he still can be shy at times. Benji is looking for a committed adopter or foster-to-adopt home that will be patient with him, allow him to build trust at his own pace, and show him what love truly feels like.
Benji is very shy at first, but once you earn his trust and he warms up to you, he will absolutely cherish you and become the most heartfelt and loyal companion. He forms deep bonds with the people he feels safe around and truly just wants to be loved.
Despite his fears, Benji is trying so hard to be brave. He will slowly come up to you when spoken to gently, especially if you talk to him softly and reassure him with patience and kindness. Once he begins to trust you, he becomes incredibly loving and affectionate and truly is the best boy.
Benji is currently in foster care, where he has built a very strong bond with his foster mommy and absolutely loves her. He also gets along wonderfully with the personal pets in the home. Having another friendly and confident dog around helps Benji feel more secure, so we believe he would do great in a home with another dog companion.
He thrives in calm, understanding environments with people willing to give him the time he needs to blossom and feel safe.
Benji is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, neutered, heartworm/Lyme tested (negative), and fully vet checked.
