Story
🏠 Currently in a Toronto foster home Hi, I'm Don-i. 🤍 I may only weigh 3.5 kg, but my heart is full of love just waiting for my forever family. When you hold me, you'll notice how tiny I am. I fit perfectly in your arms, and honestly… that's one of my favorite places to be. I love being close to my people, and every gentle touch makes me feel safe. Before I was rescued, I lived in a breeding facility. I never had the chance to experience what it means to be a cherished family member. Everything is still new to me, but one thing comes naturally—I love people. When you give me attention, I'll shyly wag my tail and quietly ask for more cuddles. I'm a gentle, calm little boy who gets along well with other dogs. If you already have a furry friend, I'd be happy to be their companion. But I'd also love being your one and only, soaking up all the love you've been saving for me. I'm still learning about life in a home, so I'll need some patience with potty training and leash walking. Since I've never had the chance to learn these things before, I hope you'll teach me one step at a time. I promise I'll do my best because I trust people and truly want to make you proud. I've spent my whole life being small and vulnerable, but I dream of a future where I never have to worry again—a home where I'm loved, protected, and treated like family. If you're looking for a loyal little shadow with a gentle heart, I think we've been waiting for each other. Will you be my forever family? 🤍

Story
FOR ADOPTION in southern Ontario: Hi… my name is Bea. I’m only 3 years old, I weigh just 5 pounds, and if I’m being honest… I don’t understand why I’m still waiting. I don’t know what diabetes is. I don’t know why some people see that word and decide I’m too much. I only know that I love people with my whole heart. When I arrived at my foster home, I didn’t waste any time. Within an hour, I had found a lap, curled into a tiny little ball, and fallen asleep. That night, I climbed into bed like I’d always belonged there. Because that’s who I am. I don’t believe strangers stay strangers for very long. I believe every lap is meant to be shared, every blanket is meant to be burrowed under, and every person I meet could be my forever family. I love racing you to the couch before you can sit down (I usually win). I disappear under blankets until all you can see is a tiny lump. My foster family says I’m like a teddy bear that came to life because all I really want is to be as close to my people as possible. I’m wonderful with kids—even the tiny humans! I’m currently living with a 2-year old, and we’re doing great. I can go from joyful zoomies to peaceful cuddles in seconds. I’ll proudly let you know when someone comes to the door, and I give leash walks my very best effort, even if my little legs think they’re much bigger than they really are. There is one thing you should know about me. Every day, I need insulin. I don’t like the needles, but I trust the people who love me, so I stand still, take a deep breath, and let them help me. That’s what brave little girls do. My diabetes is something I live with but it isn’t who I am. I’m still happy. I still get excited for breakfast. I still love to play. I still love to snuggle under the blankets. And I still have so much love left to give. Maybe you’re the person who will look past my diagnosis and see me for who I really am, a tiny little dog with a giant heart who just wants a family to call her own. All I want is a home where I never have to wonder if I’ll be loved tomorrow and someone who can provide for my medical needs. I may need a little extra care, but I promise I’ll spend every single day showing you that I’m worth it. If you’re willing to open your heart to a little dog who will love you with everything she has, I’m waiting… and I can’t wait to finally come home. Story
*Note: Currently, Tongky, is in Korea but will be arriving in Toronto once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, pleae click here.BackgroundTongky was one of eight small dogs abandoned together in a rural area of Paju. Most of the dogs were Maltese and Spitz and were believed to have come from a breeding facility. After being abandoned, they were taken to a local high kill shelter. With no adopters coming forward, Tongky was placed on the euthanasia list. Thankfully, he was rescued before that could happen. After his rescue, Tongky joined his first foster family, where he lived in an apartment with a young elementary school aged child for four months. He then moved to another foster home with a quiet young couple, where he has continued to thrive in a home environment.Unfortunately, due to personal circumstances, his current foster family can only care for him until the end of June. We are hoping to find Tongky the loving forever home he deserves so he can finally settle into a family of his own and never have to experience another transition again.Personality and SocializationTongky can be a little shy when meeting new people, especially men. However, once he feels safe and comfortable, his sweet and affectionate personality quickly emerges. He forms strong bonds with his people and loves attention and companionship. He is currently very comfortable with his male foster parent and enjoys spending time with him.Tongky gets along very well with other dogs and has shown good social skills in foster care. He like dogs who are friendly and respecful and are not too dominant. He has also lived successfully with a young child and would be suitable for a home with respectful children.BehavioursTongky loves going for walks and is easy to handle on leash. He enjoys exploring the world around him and looks forward to his daily outings. He is cooperative during grooming and bath time and handles routine care very well. Tongky rides reasonably well in the car. He may whine a little if sitting alone in a car seat, but settles with reassurance and enjoys being close to his people. He does not show signs of separation anxiety and has not displayed any aggressive behaviours. Tongky uses pee pads when needed and prefers to do his bowel movements outside during walks. He has a wonderful balance of energy. He enjoys running around and playing when it is time for fun, but he is equally happy to relax quietly beside his family when the day winds down.Health and DietTongky is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and has been routinely dewormed. He receives monthly parasite prevention. When he was rescued, Tongky tested positive for heartworm. He successfully completed treatment and has been declared heartworm free. He has also received a full veterinary examination. He is healthy and ready for his forever home.Tongky eats regular kibble with a healthy appetite and has not shown any known food or environmental allergies.Ideal HomeTongky has experienced abandonment and uncertainty in his past, but he has never stopped believing in people. Beneath his slightly shy first impression is a loving, loyal companion who simply wants to be close to those he trusts. His ideal family is one that understand his gentle nature, and offer him the stability he has always deserved. In return, Tongky will reward them with affection, companionship, and unwavering loyalty. After everything he has been through, Tongky is ready to leave his past behind and begin a new chapter with a family who will love him forever.*Note: Currently, Tongky, is in Korea but will be arriving in Toronto once adopted. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, pleae click here.
