Story
BORIS HAS BEEN ADOPTED. A couple weeks ago a beautiful sweet cat appeared outside our door. It was apparently lost. Trying to relocate the cat with its owner, we posted photo and description on local social media and received 160 responses. Sadly, the cat was not claimed. In the meantime, we took the cat to a Vet for scanning, health check up, and treatment of potential problems. No ID chip was found. Rabies vaccine was given, plus flea, tick, and parasite topical was applied. The neutered 2 year-old male is FIV+ and Leukemia - (neg). The Vet said that the cat is VERY HEALTHY and vigorous. It is BEAUTIFUL! VERY SWEET and well trained, VERY OBEDIENT as well. Follows us around like a pet dog and follows commands. We are unable to keep a pet, just wanted to reunite the cat with its owner and care for it temporarily. This animal is special and really deserves good home. BORIS HAS BEEN ADOPTED,

Story
When we first learned about Frankie, he went by the name Grammie. The neighbor had been feeding "her" and she was moving away. Worried about the fate of the sweet cat, she connected with area rescues. No one had room and one rescue even refused to intake her BECAUSE of her (assumed) age.  We agreed to help BECAUSE of her age. Wr dodnt find a new home and the good Samritan eventually moved away and took Grammie with her. She later found out that "Grammie" was actually a "Grampy" and later named him Frankie. It has been a year and he never did settle into their chaotic lifestyle. She wrote us today to ask that we help find him the right home. This is what she had to say: "Over a yr ago I took in the neighbors cats after he passed away. I was moving and there was no one left to feed them. They are older cats and use to a quiet life. One cat settle in fine. But one has struggled. He is the sweetest guy ever. Unfortunately he is scared of everything. He won’t fight my cats but he hides and won’t come out. He was hiding in a little cave thing that was part of a cat tree. He wasn’t eating or drinking. So I started taking him wet food and a coffee cup of water. I finally moved him to a bedroom that I was remodeling for my granddaughter. The cat is named Frankie. He comes out of his hiding spot in the room. He seems content. I’ve brought him out to the living room several times and he trembles. He has cat trees in there. And he doesn’t climb them. He don’t claw any thing. He uses the litter box. He likes to lay by a person. He likes to rub his head on your head. Frankie is about 10 yrs old . He is neutered.. he becomes over stressed around other cats, small kids, and small and big dogs. Oh and although he is to go outside on his dads porch when he was alive, he does not want to go outside. This is not the home for him. I feel I have created a relationship with him. And I love him so much. But he is not getting what he needs here. His life should not be spent on a bedroom with me going in there when I can to live in him. (He is feed and water twice a day) so I want better for him. He is the best little guy. I’m not sure how old he is but with Daphne the Humane Society vet said he was about 10 yrs old. So I’m guessing he is about that age. He is healthy. I think if he ever got comfortable where he lived he would go outside, like on the porch. He use to stay on my neighbors porch."   Please text us at 352-843-6858 for the link to an adoption application  ##2483349##

Story
Rhomus came to us at the beginning of March. He was rescued by good Samritans in Deland FL after being discovered with awful bite wounds and facial abcess. He was in bad shape and they took him to an emergency vet. They recieved a $1500 quote to fix his face injuries. They couldn't afford that, so they got him antibiotics and went home to call rescues.    We immediately wanted to help these good Samaritans because they had tried so hard (already) to help the cat. We knew our clinic partners would tend those wounds while he was being fixed. We had him neutered and his face patched up at Sheltering Hands. He tested FIV+ but that matters not. Rhombus is sweet and friendly... he poses no transmission risk to other cats. He had to see Dr Craft at Access about a month after his neuter because his wounds were worse and he had a URI cooking. With his FIV+ status, we have to be vigilant. Really it just means he has a comprised immune system. He has to try harder to heal.    But HEAL, HE DID! Rhombus has been on the mend ever since. His beautiful cheek fluff is growing back and we moved him to the farmhouse this week. He is an affectionate and intelligent cat. He is people centric and he is BIG. He doesn't have the typical wispy fur in his toes and ears... but he is a SPECTACULAR cat and he behaves like he is part MaineCoonCat. He is ready for a forever home and he wont last long once people start to meet him.    Fostered in Ocala FL. Text us at 352-843-6858 for a link to the adoption application for Rhombus. ##2324895##

Story
Saffy was adopted from a pet rescue as a 4 week old kitten. She is now almost 3 years old. She is friendly with adults and kids but does not get along well with other cats and does not get along with dogs. She needs to be a one and only pet. She loves to play fetch with various objects. She does not like too many pets/rubs and she absolutely hates belly rubs. She needs to be around her human(s). She does not like to be alone but will when she is in the mood to be alone. She does not eat human food. She eats hard cat food through out the day and has one serving of wet cat food per day and she loves treats. We are trying to find her a home because she has not been able to get along with our dog and other cat since we have had her. We have exhausted our options. She deserves to be in a home without that type of stress.

Story
Princess is a sweet 3 1/2 yr old Maine Coon that loves people. She was unfortunately given to us because she was abandoned by her previous owner, so we fostered her until we could give her a better home. She loves belly rubs, cuddles and is incredibly affectionate. She loves to play and talkative. She doesn’t do well with other cats because she wants all the attention.
