Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi I'm Adeline,    I'm from a family of five, but after eight years in the same home, everything in our world changed at once.  Our person loved us, but life circumstances shifted in a way none of us could control, and we were surrendered together. It was confusing, scary, and heartbreaking.  Even though we were frightened, every single one of us tried our best to be brave. During our physical exams — shots, blood work, claw trims, the whole works — we were absolute dolls. Not a single complaint, not a single swipe. Just wide eyes, trembling whiskers, and quiet trust in the hands caring for us. Whether we stay together or find homes separately, we carry years of love in our hearts and a sweetness that shines through even when we’re scared.    Because of our size and long hair we believe we have Maine Coon blood, although I have shorter hair than the rest of my family. Estimated Birthdate:  3/24/18 Staff Update:   Check back soon for updates.  We will let you know as their individual personalities become apparent. To schedule a meet/greet with this pawsome kitty, we recommend that you complete a Pre-Adoption Application which is available here:   https://www.shelteringhands.org/adoptionapplication.  For additional information, email our Adoptions Team at adoptions@shelteringhands.org.  Once applications are approved the Adoptions Team will coordinate the best way for you to get your new furry family member and bring them home. Story
Esme is one of two Cats that I took into our home of 3 cats and two dogs. She has a sister, Lila, who also joined our family. Unfortunately, Esme is a Type A young lady(5 years old), who does not want to share her home with other kitties(with exception of her sister, Lila). I do not believe they are bonded to the point that they need to be a team if adopted, however. She would be much happier as the only cat in the home. She is your typical Maine Coon/Tabby mix. She loves to talk and is very sweet. Loves belly rubs and on occasion loves to go outdoors with me. She does take a minute to warm up, but once you gain her trust she will follow you around, sit up on your lap or lounge on your desk while you work on your computer. Living in this environment with all of other pets is causing her stress and anxiety. It is not fair to her or, for that matter, the other family members to keep her here. She needs a quiet home, a dog is fine as long as they are already aware that cats rule.
