Story
We are happy to introduce the handsome and fluffy Axel! This little guy is about 5-6 months old and very sweet and friendly. He was found outside at a local cat colony along with quite a few others we’ve taken in recently. All of the colony cats were fixed and a bunch of newcomers have started showing up (not fixed or chipped). There was a camper/tent community in the woods not far away and when the sheriffs had them move along, we think all the cats and kittens were left behind to fend for themselves ☹️ Lucky for Axel, he was trapped and came to our rescue. He’s been fixed and vetted and now he’s ready to find his family 🤍

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.PIPER is a young and incredibly sweet cat looking for her forever home.  Piper purrs non-stop and makes biscuits.  She LOVES being brushed which is good because we want her elegant long hair to stay regal looking.  She also enjoys belly rubs. This friendly girl loves people and attention (see video). We have limited information about her, but Piper is good with other calm cats, with the proper slow introdution, and might be okay with small dogs (she has not been around dogs so we're not completely sure).  Piper would do best with calm children over age 10.  Adopting Piper means giving her the chance to blossom fully in a loving home where she can share endless cuddles and companionship. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. JADEN is a kitty for people who like bad boys.  He’s got the looks to charm anyone, but an attitude that can get him in trouble.  Jaden was dumped out on the streets.  With no idea what to do, he huddled in one spot for a couple of days before Spay the Strays could bring him inside.  When volunteers came to feed him and later trap him, he would come up to them crying and rubbing up against their legs for attention.  He was just happy that someone was there for him.    Jaden was named because of his beautiful green eyes.  He is also a Maine coon mix which gives him a stunning look that pulls people in.  Although he is a cuddly boy who can’t get enough of a good lap and chin scratches, he does have a few bad manners that we are working on to correct.  Jaden tends to nip or bat at you with his paws when he gets overstimulated or isn’t getting exactly what he wants.  He is improving; however, his adopter will need to continue to work with him and have the patience to use positive reinforcement to help him learn.  Jaden cannot be in a home with young children as there is concern with his lack of manners causing an issue.     Fill out the application to adopt:  https://spaythestrays.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5596   **The adoption fee is higher for specialty breeds.** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 7, 2026, 9:31 am

Story
Malia is a beautiful long haired, blue eyed cat. She loves cuddles and pets, as long as they are on her own terms. She loves taking long cat naps on her cat tree and playing with her spiral toys. Malia is a pretty laid back cat. She has occassional bursts of energy where she wants attention and toys, but she mostly likes her alone time. Malia's favorite toys are spirals. She will also occasionally play with fishing poles and balls with bells. Malia would thrive in a home of a single person, a couple, or a home with older children/teenagers. Small children may not be able to discern when she needs to be left alone, or her play may be too aggressive. Malia is trained to go to the bathroom in the litter box. Malia is spayed and up to date on all vaccinations. Malia requires frequent grooming for long and matted hair. Because she doesn't like to be touched much of the time, grooming can be difficult. We brush and shave her mats when she allows us to. We give her treats for encouragement.
