If you see a pet here, they are still available for adoption and you should apply through our adoption application on our website at  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/   Check out this gorgeous Maine Coon mix!  Believe it or not, this girl is even more beautiful on the inside than she is on the outside.  Tricksy is everything you could want in a cat.  She absolutely craves attention and is such a good companion.  She loves scratches of all kinds, including belly rubs.  Just check out her video!  With her long fur, she loves being brushed and doted on.  Rub her just right and she'll even give you kisses. Tricksy isn't crazy about toys, but she does like to play sometimes.  Shoelaces, strings, and wand toys all top the list of her favorites.  While playing is fun, she would much rather spend her time curled up in your lap, binge watching your favorite shows with you, and just being where her people are.  She is such a friendly, loving girl.    Tricksy has so much good karma coming her way.  Not only did she have babies of her own, then go on to take in three kittens that weren't even hers, she then took in two more orphaned babies after that.  What an amazing mom!  Anytime her babies cry out, she literally runs over to check on them.  She has done an amazing job of feeding them, cleaning them and teaching them how to be wonderfully kittens.  This amazing cat is so deserving of finding the best forever home out there.  Tricksy obviously does well with kittens of any kind. She also seems just fine with adult cats too.  We haven't seen her around dogs, but her laid back nature tells us she would probably do just fine given a proper introduction.  She absolutely loves kids and would do well with little friends of any age.  High energy home, to laid back living, as long as she gets the attention she so desires, Tricksy would thrive anywhere. Tricksy  is micro-chipped, up to date on all vaccinations, spayed, and litter box trained. Bryce is a handsome and sweet, three-year-old, 13-pound, hunk of a brown tabby Maine Coon-mix looking for a loving guardian. Bryce was found living outside with poor vision due to juvenile cataracts. The cataracts probably formed due some virus he contracted as a kitten. Bryce loves to be pet and brushed; he absolutely drools with happiness! He does startle easily since his vision is impaired, and he play bites when over-stimulated so he’s looking for an experienced cat lover without children in the home. He is very healthy, neutered, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, microchipped, and virus-tested negative. He can be easily intimidated by some cats, so he can either live with a calm, easy-going cat, or on his own as the one and only pet in the home. His adoption fee of $150 benefits rescue. Skip is a beautiful and playful, green-eyed, four-year-old, 12-pound brown tabby Maine Coon-mix looking for a loving guardian. She loves to chase feathers, crinkle balls, and toy mice. She’ll give you a little bop on the knee then scamper off to signal when she wants playtime. When she plays with her foster parents with her favorite ribbon toy, they keep it just out of reach… and then she pounces. Skip can be quite a high jumper and will entertain you with her athletic antics. Skip will jump onto the desk and slide close so she can get pets. She can be a little spicy when overstimulated; she will let you know when she's done being pet by giving a little hiss and a paw bop. She likes spending time looking out the window while chilling in her cat tree. She is well-behaved in the home. She uses her litter box like a good girl. Due to her cattitude, a home with adults only would be best. She takes a bit of time to warm up to new people, but builds a strong connection given time and patience. She appears nervous around other cats. She hasn’t met dogs in her current foster home, but we’re guessing they’d make her nervous too. She is extremely healthy, spayed, vaccinated for rabies and distemper, microchipped, and virus-tested negative for FIV and Felv. Pippen is a handsome long-haired Maine Coon mix with an estimated date of birth of 9/11/2010. Pippen’s foster mom describes him as a purr machine who loves chin scratches and flopping onto his back for pets. Because of his age and current weight, he is not very active with toys. However, he enjoys laying around watching his fosters brothers play. Pippen is the perfect cat for someone looking for a relaxing, loving pet. Pippen was relinquished by his owner after 13 years because she was moving and could not take him along. He came to us through the request of one of our fosters who heard his story. Following medical care and extensive grooming, Pippen was admitted to a foster home where he is being lovingly cared for. His previous diet has been modified to a healthier product and he is currently on a weight reduction plan. Pippen would prefer to be the only cat in his new home.
