Story
ALL our cats and dogs are in the NY area but can be adopted out of state to the purrfect furever home.  In some cases, we can help transport.  Zani's al fresco Summer Adoptions  follow us on FB to find us this summer as we will try new locations to meet the needs of NYC and support the little stores:)     Ravioli Update:  Ravioli is a one eyed pirate full of spirit. She's a young two year old who prefers to be the alpha diva or can fly solo if you can provide dedicated play time. She gets along with other cats but needs a slow introduction. She likes wand toys and hanging out up high. She's affectionate and chatty. She's a particular eater and does not vibe with fish. So no fish on her menu.  She is absolutely beautiful now that she has filled out and fluffed up (new pics coming).  Please apply if you are looking for a dom or a solo girl (fyi: dominant cats do well w/ other doms). Ravioli Petite Pirate arrived in April 2026 from Saudi. She is a small one eyed kitty who tends to take the reins in her home:) She is cuddly and loves to play so needs an active home. Herstory: left behind pregnant, hungry and scared, without any survival instincts, she lost her eye in a cat fight. She is very sweet and friendly but after losing her eye she became stressed initially in cat company. She could be a solo but, if so, she would like a stay at home mom or dad:) All kittens are adoptable in pairs only unless another age appropriate cat is in residence.  Most of our adult cats also like cat company (most fosters are multicat homes).  Please read the following article on cat food to see why no dry: www.catinfo.org  Facebook:Zani's Furry Friends ZFF (weekly adoption event info posted there) Twitter: zanisff Instagram: zanisfurryfriends   All cats are in the NY area.  Cats are spayed/neutered, UTD on age appropriate vaccines, Rabies vaxed, and microchipped.  All are in the NY/NJ area but we will adopt out of state to the purrfect home and in some cases, we can arrange transport.  Please go to our site      https://zanisfurryfriends.org      fill out an application and return to   cats@zanisfurryfriends.org   Please note: kittens must be adopted in pairs or to households with age appropriate cat(s) to ensure proper socialization and companionship. NO exceptions! If you would prefer a solo cat, we would be happy to recommend those cats who would do best as solo cats. All our cats are tested for feline leukemia and FIV, FVRCP and Rabies vaxed and also microchipped.   Many of us (cats/dogs) will be on display on Saturdays or Sundays, weather dependent.  Please ask by writing us at cats@zanisfurryfriends.org and following us on FB. If you are seriously interested in adopting one of us in particular, please fill out an application. Usually we are in our foster homes so this is a bit more stressful and a slightly artificial environment but we do want to be seen and find our furever homes too. Please come! And if you can't adopt, foster or volunteer, you can always donate! Story
Mattie is an 11-year old purebred Maine Coon spayed female. She was the youngest of our 4 cats, and the last remaining-- she is lonely! She gets along fine with our medium size dog, and does fine with other cats. Like many cats she is picky about the location of her litterbox, but once established she is fine. She is pretty friendly (perhaps less so than a "typical" Maine Coon, but more than a random mix.) She has very long hair and benefits from regular weekly brushing; we take her to the groomer for a "lion cut" in the spring to reduce the shedding of her winter coat. She sneezes more than most cats-- the vet has not found anything treatable, and keeping her hair short/brushed seems to help. She is an indoor cat; we sometimes let her walk around on the deck while we are there, but she does not wander the neighborhood-- many pets here have been lost to wild animals. She needs a family that is at home more than we are, and can give her the attention she needs.

Story
Augie Bear: Chatty, Loyal Companion DOB: 2/11/17 Augie Bear is a handsome 9-year-old Maine Coon whose world was upended when his owner could no longer care for him. Now he’s looking for a new family to spend his golden years with. This fluffy gentleman is quite the conversationalist. Augie loves to chat and always seems to have something to say. Call his name, and he’ll come to you—because being near his people is one of his favorite things. While he’ll indulge in a little playtime, Augie’s idea of a perfect day is to relax nearby and keep you company. Friendly and affectionate, he happily follows his humans around, just to be part of whatever they’re doing. Augie appears to prefer being the center of attention and does not seem to be a fan of other cats. He may be happiest as your one and only feline companion. If you’re looking for a devoted friend who will keep you company—and keep up the conversation—Augie Bear may be your perfect match. Submit our adoption application today: https://www.fofct.org/adoption-application. Adopters must live within 45 miles of Stamford, CT.
