Good with cats,
Story
Meet Miss Eureka, a young and spirited feline, who despite her past, radiates sweetness and bravery. She's a survivor, discovered during a TNR event, battling sickness with courage. Miss Eureka was in dire need of dental surgery when she was found struggling to eat with a mouth in pain. Severly underweight, she was barely surviving. She suffered hairloss due to fleas. Thankfully, Miss Eureka was given the vet attention she needed, along with a healthy diet of all the food she could eat. Now healthy, her resilient spirit is evident and she rolls around for pets. She's a testament to the power of love and care, transforming from sickly to a lively, loving cat.Miss Eureka will be shy initially in her new home, but with patience she will soon be rolling around for pets.Adopting Miss Eureka means opening your heart to a cat who embodies resilience and love, and who will surely enrich your life with her sweet, brave spirit. Miss Eureka is FIV+ but will have no issues living with other cats who are not.

Story
Almost Home believes that every animal deserves a loving home regardless of appearance, age, or physical limitation.  We have come together to give animals in need the safe and happy life they all deserve.  Almost Home Animal Rescue believes that no animal is expendable.  Adopting a friend:The animals, lucky enough to find refuge with Almost Home, are all in loving foster homes. If you are interested in the possibility of giving one of the animals a new lease on life, please contact us. The contact information is listed at the end of each biography.  What you need to do to adopt:If you would like to adopt a pet in need from Almost Home, basically, an application must be filled out. We will check two personal references and a vet reference. If you are approved for adoption, there is a trial period of about one week to make sure this is the animal for you and you are the person for the animal. Along with the trial period, a contract must be signed that basically states that if ever you cannot keep the animal that you must return the animal to Almost Home. Last but not least, a home check will be done. Meet & Greets:An approved application is required. This does not mean that you have to adopt but that you are approved to do so if everything works out. Since we are foster based, this limits the amount of people coming to our homes.  Hello… I’m Manny, and I’m looking for a new home to call my own. I'm a handsome 10-year-old gent. I'm a Maine Coon mix with soft black fur and the sweetest face you’ve ever seen. Recently, my life has been turned upside down. My beloved human moved into assisted living, and my kitty friends and I found ourselves in an empty house. Luckily, we made it into rescue, but now I’m waiting, hoping someone will open their heart to me. I'm a gentle giant, known for my sweet disposition and love of cuddles. Petting and belly rubs are my absolute favorites, and I'll happily spend most of my time by your side, offering companionship and affection. But what I really want you to know about me is that I’m a love bug. I’m also a great office buddy, so if you need company while you work, I’m your guy. I’m pretty chill, and I’d love a calm, peaceful home where I can relax and feel safe. I'd be fine with older children. I'd be perfectly content getting all your attention and love as your only kitty. And I know my name well, so just call 'Manny' or make a kissy smoochy sound and I’ll come trotting over, ready for cuddles. If you're looking for a loving and loyal companion to share your days with, I would be honored to be part of your family. Please consider giving me a chance to bring joy and warmth into your home. With love and soft purrs,Manny PS. I've already had my dental! If you would like to meet your new best friend, contact the Adoption Coordinator at info@almosthometn.org or 865-236-0830. To fill out an application, go to www.almosthometn.org. If you cannot get it to work, let us know and we will email it to you in a different format. Unless otherwise noted, all Almost Home cats are healthy, spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and flea & tick preventative.ADOPTION FEE: The adoption fee for a cat is $85. The adoption fee for a kitten is $100. The adoption fee does include the kittens being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. The adoption fee for a dog is $200. The adoption fee for a puppy is $250. The adoption fee does include the puppies being fixed and their rabies shot when they are old enough through one of our local vets. Mature pet adoption fees are sometimes reduced. The adoption fee for pure bred dogs and cats will vary due to health and age of pet. This helps support our ill animals and our mutts that get left in the system longer. We do reserve the right to change the fees higher or lower due to the circumstance of the animal but what was stated above are the usual adoption fees.  Microchipped pets will have a higher adoption fee.  Our adoption fees do not cover the cost of the vetting and care the animal has received with us and if it ever does, the money just goes back it to helping other animals in need. May 3, 2025, 2:28 pm

Story
Meet Meadow, the giant boy with a big heart! He might be a little skittish at first and need some time to warm up to new people, but once he does, you'll see how sweet he can be. He's not a fan of dogs, but he gets along well with cats, which is always a bonus. And did I mention how handsome he is? He’s the type of guy who loves a good pet, and once he’s comfortable, he’ll likely enjoy being pampered with attention. It’ll just take some patience and understanding to get him to feel at ease.
