Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online  Adoption Application THE FOLLOWING CAT IS BEING CARED FOR IN A LOVING MCR FOSTER HOME. Who is this beautiful cat Skry?   He is friendly, independent, highly intelligent, active, and very affectionate and cuddly after he decides you're his person. He will greet your visitors with grace and friendliness. And with talking, because he loves nothing better than a great conversation. He's really good at conversations because he practices a lot!   He loves being active, and he's the type of cat who needs his persons involvement to really enjoy activities like chasing after toys. Left to himself he'll climb and explore cupboards or other small spaces.   Children - we do not have knowledge of his behavior with kids. Given his temperament, we strongly recommend that all children in the home are old enough to have a very good understanding of and respect for boundaries.     How he feels about other cats - although Skry grew up with an older male cat, he has since decided he emphatically no longer wants to share his person or space with another cat. He requires a one cat home.   How he feels about dogs - Skry's first doggy meet up was a scary experience for him. His foster has two cat savvy dogs and he's more accepting of dogs now. He can be in a home with a cat social dog and slow introductions.   What Skry doesn't appreciate - grooming. He will tolerate it for short intervals in the 'right' locations.   Traveling - Skry is up for adoption because his person moved overseas and long haul travel meds wear off too soon. He gets very anxious on long trips. For short car rides to the vet (less than an hour), he does reasonably well while also letting his person know he wants to stay home next time. Once at the vet and in a room, he'll explore and engage with the humans who wander in. Skry is litter box trained and reacts well to different types of litter. His foster has not had any spraying or marking issues. As smart as he is, he may be a great candidate for potty training. Skry is located in Olympia, WA. He is available within 125 miles of his location. Skry's adoption fee is $275.00. This includes spay/neuter, FVRCP Vaccine, Rabies Vaccine, Combo test (neg/neg), dewormer, flea prevention, and wellness visit. *Please note that Skry is not available to go home until November 1, 2024.* For more information please contact Maine Coon Rescue at: adoption@mainecoonrescue.net. Story
Chaplin is very mindful, very demure. He is a sweet, sweet boy but is very anxious and shy. He needs someone with patience and empathy. He doesn't have a history of biting/scratching but tends to hide. He looooves anything dairy! If he smells yogurt or ice-cream he will be in your lap to try and steal a bite! Usually I just give him the spoon to lick so it doesn't upset his tummy. He always sleeps next to me at night and always tries to suckle on my shirt. He was my sister's cat but I kept him when she moved in with her hubby who has dogs (he does not like dogs/other cats.) I think he'd be very good with a mellow environment. He lets his brother yell for food in the morning and just waits patiently by the dish without a peep (hence his name.) Unfortunately I have been left financially in a ditch after a bad situation left me on leave from work for several weeks. He needs a cozy home with someone who can provide adequate vet care.

Story
Otis is a maincoon tabby mix that we adopted from the animal shelter. He has a huge heart and loves to cuddle in the mornings. We are heartbroken to lose a member of our family but we have tried everything and are out of options since we currently are renting. Otis is a bit of a high maintenance kitty so here is a breakdown of his needs: 1. He has ocd (diagnosed by vet) so if things change or the house isnt picked up he gets cranky and will act out 2. He has allergies that if not treated affect his lungs and can become fatal (needs allergy shots twice a year that cost around $100) 3. Hes a long hair cat so needs to be brushed regularly 4. He sprays even after getting neutered. This is sadly the reason we have to rehome him. He sprays seemingly without reason. We took vet advice and kept a routine, didnt bring in new people or objects and he still is continuing to spray Otis has been one of the best pets weve owned and weve loved having him as a member of our family these 2 years
