Story
Emmie is a sweet, timid girl who thrives in quiet spaces and gentle routines. She will do best in an adult home where she can be the only animal, allowing her to feel safe and confident without extra stress. Emmie loves peaceful moments, especially when she can sit by a window to watch birds or stretch out in a sunny spot.Despite her shy nature, she has a playful side and enjoys batting around kitty toys—her favorites lately have been the little cat balls. She also likes to “talk” with soft meows, and once she trusts you, she becomes very affectionate. Emmie often comes close to your face for cuddles when she’s lying in bed with you.If you’re looking for a gentle companion who appreciates quiet, comfort, and a patient heart, Emmie could be the perfect match.

Story
Zeus is a beautiful, affectionate kitty who needs rehoming. He is 14 years old, living in Seattle. He is healthy; unfortunately, his owner is aging and is no longer able to take care of him. This is a hard situation all around; his mom will miss him. Zeus is active, likes to play, and loves some good head scratches and being brushed. He will follow you around looking for attention. His favorite place to sit is on the dining room table where he can be near the action. He can be temperamental, and needs somebody who can be patient with him; he’ll give love but it’s on his own terms. I would not recommend that he live with other cats or with young children.

Story
Simba has been in our family for many years we got him when he was only 1 years old, it has become hard for me to take care of him, as I am expecting in October, and my 12 year old daughter will be getting open heart surgery 7/31/26 Also. I am not able to maintain the needs of him. Please know that he knows Spanish and English, he’s shy at first and will take a while for him to get use to you. But once he trusts you he is very lovable, caring and playful. Thank you for reading

Story
***NOTE: This pet is currently at the shelter in Republic, WA, and can be delivered to an approved adopter on our 8/8/26 adopted pet transport to Monroe, WA to begin a 30-day trial placement part of our distance adoption program.*** Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing Dolly This beautiful shorthaired tabby/white girl is SO ready for a home of her own. Picture this. You're a young single mother of very active quintuplet toddlers, and someone shows up to say "look pretty and playful, you're on camera!" Now imagine what Dolly thought, and you'll understand her very inactive video. "Please. I am exhausted. I just want to sit here and be adored. Pet me, but for the love of Friskies, please do NOT ask me to exercise in any way, shape, or form. Oh, and WHEN. ARE. THEY. BEING . ADOPTED?!?! I need some rest. Please. I am begging you. Just let me nap for ONE SEC... oh no, they are pouncing on my tail again...." We do think Dolly, who is only about a year old, will be happy to play once the kittens have moved on to their new homes. But if you want to just offer her a warm and cozy, QUIET sunspot for the first week or two, she would worship you forever. Dolly hasn't yet been tested with other cats and dogs (really, 5 rambunctious kitten roomies are ENOUGH for right now), but we will be able to do so soon, as those kittens will be moving on out. Now it's Dolly's turn! All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Dolly is a suggested minimum of $60 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

We still have two of our adorable Country Singers litter available - an early 2026 litter of kittens, born about 4/22/26 and surrendered by their owner to our shelter. WILLIE- male, DSH tabby, brown nose, white muzzle, throat, lots of white on back legs MERLE- male, DSH tabby white spot on nose, white chin/throat, white feet These boys would love a home together, but are also happy to split up and meet whatever existing pets you already have! They are young enough that they should adapt fine with proper introductions. We'd love to see all kittens go to homes that have another young, playful kitten, or to send 2 of them out as a pair (which gives you a great pair discount rate), but we do not require pair adoptions. If you prefer to adopt just one, and you don't have a similarly aged kitten at home already, please read our information on Single Kitten Syndrome. Then, when you apply for a single kitten, please let us know in the "Comments" field how you plan to deal with the "kitten crazies." All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of $85 (more gratefully accepted).
