Story
Meet our special little girl, Teensy! This sweet little gal is ready to find the quiet, calm and understanding home she's been dreaming of, and settle in with her new family.Teensy is a nervous little lady and finds life to be a bit frightening with all the activity we navigate day to day. She is hoping for an adopter who is experienced and committed to helping her find coping skills and working with her to ease her discomfort in new situations. She does better in familiar environments and thrives on routine and predictability! Teensy has been showing us sneak peaks and bits of her loving and gentle personality, getting the odd zoomies here and there, and relishing in pets and love offered by her friends. She doesn't want you to stop loving on her and gently paws and whines for more of your attention. We can't wait to see her true personality shine through and know she will be a very loving companion! She loves to snuggle up in her bed, and has been playing with a few of her toys, so we know with some progress she will thrive! We know Teensy is cute as a button and everyone will want her, but she is seeking an adopter who is willing to attend Animal Kind Training sessions that we arrange and be comfortable administering her anxiety medications. Her ideal adopter is committed to her welfare and ensuring they follow the behavior plans to give Teensy the best chance at feeling better day to day. If you're ready to offer this sweet one a home where she can get the dedication she needs and craves, apply below!** Please note we do not have walk in viewing set up at our branch for dogs and do require an application so we can appropriately screen and have a proper conversation about Teensy and her needs.** ****Due to the high volume of applications we receive for small dogs, please know unfortunately we will not be able to respond to everyone. Thank you Primary Color: White Weight: 7.5 Age: 7yrs 2mths 0wks

Hiya, hiya. My name is BEAUTY and here is a little info about me:Breed: Maltese mixAge: 1-1/2 yrsGender: femaleWeight: 7 kgHeight: tbdCountry of origin: Midfle EastHighlight(s): smart, quiet, friendly adaptable, playfulAren't I a real beauty? Not just externally though, my beauty is more than skin deep. I am beautiful throughout. My early life had been spent locked in a crate inside a bathroom, isolated and forgotten, without sunshine, walks, or affection. When I was finally rescued, I stepped out timid, but gentle. I quickly showed what a loving and sweet girl I truly am. Now safe and discovering the world for the first time, I am blossoming every day—trusting, soft-natured, and ready for a family who will never shut me away again.I am smart, friendly and adaptable. I like to play, but really am a pretty quiet girly.Hoping you will allow me to hang out with you, as your shadow. I am waiting for a home filled with love, freedom, and open doors. Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $850.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. ##2596874##

Good with dogs,
Story
Currently in a Vancouver foster home Hello… my name is Hari. I’m a 5-year-old Maltese mix girl, about 6kg, and for the first time in my life… I’m learning what it means to live for myself. For many years, my whole world was a tiny metal cage. No sunlight. No soft voice calling my name with love. Only the sound of humans demanding one thing from me over and over—to be a mother, again and again, even though I never got to hold or keep any of my babies. Whenever my puppies were taken from me, I tried to chew through the bars to reach them. My teeth became worn down from trying so hard… trying to find them, trying not to give up. I cried quietly and waited, hoping someone would finally come for me. One day, someone did. I was rescued—saved from that place—and for the very first time, I was given a chance to live a life that belongs to me. A life where I never have to breed again. A life where nothing precious is taken away from me anymore. I’m a very calm, very gentle girl. I hardly ever bark. And when I see people, fear isn’t the first thing I feel—joy is. I walk toward you slowly, shyly, but with a little wagging tail… hoping you’ll notice me. Hoping you’ll love me. But everything outside that cage is new to me. Home life, walks, daily routines, learning where to go potty… I’m five years old, but in many ways, I’m just beginning. I will need someone patient, someone kind, who can teach me what every dog should’ve known from the start—that I’m safe, that I’m wanted, and that love doesn’t disappear. I love people more than anything. I feel most at peace when I’m beside a human. If the house is empty for too long, I might become anxious… not because I’m difficult, but because I spent so many years wondering if anyone would ever stay. I’m learning that family means “forever,” and I hope you can show me what that feels like. I don’t want to be a tool anymore. I want to be a family member. I want to spend the rest of my life giving and receiving love—real love, the kind that stays. I’m searching for someone who will become my very first true family. Someone who will fill the years I have left with warmth, safety, and memories I’ve never been allowed to have. If you choose me… I promise I will give you every bit of my heart. With hope, Hari 🤍🐾
