Ready to adopt? Start by filling out an application at torinkahoots.com or click the Adoption button below—this is the first step to learn more about our animals and for us to get to know you. Since not all of our pets come into the store each day, adoption meet-and-greets are scheduled by appointment.
Meet Rose — a petite 12-pound bundle of personality with a whole lot of opinions and an even bigger heart once you earn her trust. We suspect she may be a Havanese, Maltese mix, or possibly even have a little Cocker Spaniel mixed in, but her exact breed makeup is truly unknown.
Rose came into the shelter as a stray, so her past remains a mystery. What we do know is that she can be vocal and cautious when meeting new people. She tends to bark first and ask questions later, especially around strangers, but once she feels safe, she becomes an affectionate, eager-to-please little companion. She does excellent one-on-one, enjoys getting her harness on, and happily heads out for walks with her person.
Rose is still struggling to warm up to men and would likely do best in a calm, female-only home. Because she can be nervous and reactive initially, we would not place her with young children or even early teens. She does well with other small dogs. Dogs over 30 pounds are unknown at this time, as we have not yet placed her in that environment. Cats and livestock are also unknown.
This girl will need someone patient who understands that trust takes time, but for the right person, Rose has the potential to become a very loyal little shadow.
Spayed/Neuiterd, micro chipped, heartworm negative (if of age), dhpp shots, kennel cough vacs., and one year rabies is completed. Adoption fee is $250.00
We are NOT a first-come-first to adopt a rescue, the best fit for the family and dog is the way we do things. We do out of town adoptions often, but will not ship animals must come to Redding for pick up.
