You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.  Do Not Apply for a pet with PENDING in the name bar.  They have been matched with a home, but not adopted yet. Morty is the sweetest boy! He loves to cuddle, but is also a playful puppy. He is 12 weeks old. There are no known health issues. He needs work on house training. Adoption fee is 950.00. Located in the south. Transport is available to the NE. Thank you for choosing rescue! We are volunteers with other commitments in addition to rescue. Our time is very limited. Therefore, we request a  $20.00  donation through paypal in order to process and expedite your application. This shows that you are truly interested in adoption. Your application will remain on file for a year. Applications are available at www.eastcoasthumanesociety.com under forms/application. Donation should be made through Paypal at www.eastcoasthumanesociety.com. We are only available by phone after you have an approved application. All pets are located in the southeast. Transport is available to the NE for an additional $300.00 transport fee. We do not adopt in MA, RI due to import laws. Residents MUST pick up in CT. All dogs over 8 months will be spayed or neutered and heartworm tested. All dogs and puppies have been vaccinated,microchipped, dewormed and treated for other parasites. Please read the FAQ on our website for additional information. Adoption fees are cash or money order only. 10/16/26 I was adopted last Nov, but my person passed away. It was very sad and I was alone for sometime before someone came to check. I'm back with rescue and recovering from the trauma and have pancreatitis again. I'm getting better, but I'm not quite ready for prime time. My foster wants me to be better so anyone that adopts me only has to make sure I'm eating a low fat diet. I'm very quiet and would be better suited for someone with no other, or just one other pet. I found myself out on my own until I was taken to a noisy scary place called the county shelter. I didn’t have a micro-chip and no one came to find me so I stayed in a small cage for a week until a nice person rescued me. I didn’t look too bad, but I was rushed to the vet after a few days of not eating. The vet discovered I had an infection, and pancreatitis. After some emergency treatment I went home and started on a low fat diet. I’m doing very well now. I’m a quiet little man and I have eyes that look clear into my soul. My hearing isn't very good. I do get along just fine with all my housemates so another small pup would be fine. I’m just the right age and weight for the right family.

Meet Barbara!! Babs is a sweet and sassy 11 yr old Maltese mix who had a family her whole life until one day they just up and abandoned her. We have no idea why but there couldn't possibly be a good enough reason to abandon sweet Babs on her own! Given Babs history of abandonment she gets very attached to her people and wants to be nearby all of the time. Because of that, she will require someone who is either retired or works remote - Babs will not be happy home alone for hours at a time. She would prefer adult human company though - no children and preferably no other dogs. Babs is house trained when kept on a schedule but will also use pee pads and is a great little leash walker!   Interested in adopting sweet Babs? Meet Toby!  They don’t get much cuter than this guy!! Toby is a one(ish) year old Maltese mix who wastes no time winning over the hearts of everyone he meets!! Don’t let his small size fool you though! This guy packs a lot into his small little body….a lot of personality; a lot of energy; and most importantly a lot of LOVE!  Toby is great with other dogs of all sizes and cats! He’s looking for an ACTIVE family with at least one other playful dog and a fenced in yard to run around and get his zoomies out. Toby is an energetic and playful guy and so would not be a good fit for low energy households or for adopters with mobility or balance concerns.  Are you looking for a new BFF to hit all of the Fall Festivals with?
