Meet Gus!  Gus is a 16 yr old super senior Maltese who came to RMG after his mom had to be moved into memory care. Aside from having some apparent hearing loss, though, you would never know Gus is a whopping 16 yrs old! He’s extremely spry for his age and in great health. Gus’ previous family did report that he had had some life long anxiety issues, but he had also always been the only pet in the home. Ever since he joined RMG and has been in a foster home with other dogs and cats, we have seen absolutely zero signs of anxiety of any sort. This is one happy fella! So for that reason, we will be looking for a home with another dog for Gus - preferably another chill senior who would enjoy a companion to roam the yard with and then snuggle up for a nice nap. Even at 16 yrs old, we have no doubt that Gus still has a lot of life left to live! Interested in being a part of that amazing life?     Meet Shaggy Rogers! This sweet 6-year-old Maltese mix is a total heart-stealer with his soft white coat, soulful eyes, and gentle spirit. Shaggy is everything you could want in a companion — fully potty trained, calm, snuggly, and perfectly content to spend his days lounging by your side or napping in a cozy spot. At about 16 pounds, he’s the ideal size for sofa cuddles and lap time. This adorable boy could probably stand to lose a few pounds, right now he's got just a touch of extra fluff to love! Shaggy has impeccable manners — he walks nicely on leash, is crate trained, and does just fine when left alone (he’ll likely just curl up for a nap). He’s friendly with men, women, and kids of all ages, and he’s also great with other small dogs. While playdates give him a fun little spark, he’s also happy as an only dog — he’s all about peaceful companionship. Shaggy’s low-key personality makes him a perfect match for a relaxed household — singles, adults, or seniors who prefer quiet days and cozy evenings. He plays quietly with toys and loves to be your cuddle buddy and calm companion. Shaggy came to us a bit matted and with a mild, treatable skin infection, so he’s on the mend and just starting to show his sweet personality as he heals. His adopter will need to be patient as his hair grows back and he regains his full fluff — but his loving eyes and gentle nature already shine through. He’s also been recently shaved, so expect an adorable transformation once his coat returns!  If you’re looking for a calm, affectionate friend who will adore you and make every day a little cozier, Shaggy Rogers is your guy.
