Story
Babe is a 14-year-old Maltese weighing about 9 pounds, and she is every bit the tiny, fluffy angel she appears to be. Babe found her way to us after her beloved owner had to move into a nursing home, a heartbreaking transition for them both. It’s clear she was deeply loved, and she carries that gentle, devoted spirit with her. This sweet senior girl is looking for a calm, cozy home where she can enjoy her golden years. She would love a soft lap, a comfy bed, and someone to cherish her the way she deserves. Senior pups like Babe have a quiet magic about them. They don’t ask for much, just love and a little place to belong. If you’re ready to open your heart to a tiny companion with a lifetime of love still to give, Babe may be the perfect addition to your family. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Vecna is a 2-year-old Maltese mix weighing in at 14 pounds, and he is serving personality with a side of pop star flair. Currently rocking a haircut that would make early-2010s Justin Bieber nod in approval, this little guy has presence.  While we are still getting to know him, Vecna has shown himself to be a pretty cool dude. He carries himself with quiet confidence and seems to be taking everything in stride. New surroundings, new people, new routines, he is handling it all like a seasoned pro. He is the perfect “take you everywhere” size. Big enough to keep up, small enough to scoop up for couch time when the day winds down. If you are looking for a stylish sidekick with an easygoing vibe, Vecna just might be your guy. His minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives. Story
Misty 8 years old 6 pounds Maltese If sweetness were a dog, it would be Misty. This 6-pound Maltese girl is 8 years old and absolutely, ridiculously sweet. She’s the kind of dog who melts into you, looks at you with soft eyes, and makes you wonder how something so tiny can hold so much love. Misty has no teeth (which only adds to her charm), but unlike some of our gummy little friends, her tongue stays politely tucked inside. She is simply adorable — dainty, gentle, and full of quiet affection. She is: • Wonderful with people • Great with other dogs • Especially loves having another small dog to cuddle • Crate trained • Social and affectionate Misty may bark a little when the car first starts moving, but she settles quickly and rides just fine. We’re still learning about her leash skills and potty habits. She is a breeder release, but you would never guess it. Misty is incredibly social and comfortable with people — she leans into love like she’s been waiting for it her whole life. If you have a soft lap, a cozy blanket, and maybe a little dog who wouldn’t mind sharing snuggles, Misty is ready to complete your home. 🤍 Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog Her minimum adoption donation amount is $275 She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives. We are located in Bloomington, IL We do not ship, you would need to travel to pick up your babies if you live out of state. Your current pets must be up-to-date on core vaccines, spayed/neutered, and on heart worm prevention year round. You must be at least 21-years-old to adopt. Please have your veterinarian and two non-family reference phone numbers ready. The app makes you start all over if you leave the page to look up numbers. Story
Tuck Dean is a very shy boy. He prefers to just watch all the action right now. He does enjoy going outside and exploring the yard. He’s content sitting in a lap or on a cozy pillow. He hasn’t had any accidents in his crate or house! All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. Records are sent via email. Paper versions are available upon request. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile above. After we review your completed survey, we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sunday and Monday and will not be processing any applications on those days. Please get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH! adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH! cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH! representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Empire St.) Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH! representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at the Cat’s Meow Cafe: Navigate to PetSmart, park in the parking lot and enter the store. Locate a PCH! Representative at our adoption table and let them know you are picking up a Cat Cafe Cat. You will sign your final contract with your counselor and snap a picture of the completed screen. Head to the Cat’s Meow Cafe at 507 N. Hershey Rd and provide them with the snapshot of your final contract. They will get your cat and take a “Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. PCH! supports a 30-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we cannot provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!

Story
Einstein 10 years old 7 pounds Maltese Yes, the hair is real. Yes, the tongue is out. Yes, he’s adorable beyond reason. Einstein is a 10-year-old, 7-pound Maltese with the wildest, most fabulous “mad scientist” hair you’ve ever seen — and he just might be as smart as his name suggests. Add in his permanently peeking tongue (another proud member of the toothless cutie club), and you’ve got a walking serotonin boost. This little gentleman is: • Super friendly • Wonderful with people • Great with other dogs • Crate trained • Full of personality Einstein is a breeder release, but you would absolutely never know it. He is social, happy, and lights up when he’s around his people. He cheers up everyone he meets with his goofy charm and sweet nature. We’re still learning about his leash and potty skills, but he’s eager to please and loves being part of the action. If your home could use a tiny, fluffy genius with a gummy grin and enough personality to power a small city, Einstein is ready to move in and start brightening your days. 🧠🤍 Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $275. Story
Doc Brown Approximately 2 years old 8 pounds Maltese / Chihuahua mix Great Scott… he’s adorable. Doc Brown is our other wild-haired genius — a fluffy little Maltese/Chihuahua mix with bright eyes, crazy white hair, and a soul that feels older than his years. At just about 2 years old and 8 pounds, he’s already mastered the art of being the perfect companion. Found as a stray on the streets of Chicago, Doc Brown somehow kept his gentle heart and easygoing spirit intact. He’s wise beyond his age — calm, observant, and quietly affectionate. He is: • Super easy going • Wonderful with people • Great with other dogs • Quiet • Crate trained • Leash okay If Doc Brown gets nervous (even if you’re the one making him nervous during a bath or nail trim), he doesn’t snap or fuss — he simply turns and hugs your neck. Literally. He wraps himself into you for reassurance. It’s one of the sweetest things you’ll ever experience. Kids are unknown, but his gentle nature suggests he’d do well with respectful ones. If you’re looking for a young dog with an old soul, a fluffy genius with street smarts and a heart full of love, Doc Brown is ready to rewrite your future — one snuggle at a time. ⚡️🤍 Please apply here: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/DBSR/Dog His minimum adoption donation amount is $345. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, microchipped, dewormed, heart worm checked, and on flea/tick and heart worm preventatives.
