Meet little Oliver! He is a 7+ year old, pocket sized maltese mix. Oliver weighs in at a mere 9 pounds! What he lacks in size, he makes up for in love and personality. Oliver started out very timid and skittish for the first few days in his foster home. Once he got comfortable with the lay of the land, he settled right in. Oliver loves snoozing the day away in his comfy bed. He eagerly wakes up for important things like lunch and pottying outside. He is pretty much potty trained, as long as he is let out regularly. If he doesn't go out often enough, he will eventually go potty inside. Once outside, Oliver loves to explore the yard. He trots around checking things out and doing his business. Oliver barks on occasion but is not overly vocal. He most often speaks up when a dog is walking by or when he is excited and really wants your attention. Oliver had extensive dental issues when he arrived in the rescue. This led to all of his teeth being removed so he is now part gummy bear! While the vet said he may be able to resume eating kibble, he is perfectly happy eating canned, wet food. Oliver sleeps in bed with his foster parents at night. They tried putting him in his kennel one night, but he wasn't a fan of that so now he just settles right into their bed and sleeps through the night. Oliver does great with other dogs and children. He is very gentle and snuggly. Because he is so short, he uses stairs to get up on the couch. He uses a couple of steps to get out to the yard but has not attempted a full set of stairs yet. He is a little nervous in the car but does well, overall, mostly just needs a little reassurance from his humans. Oliver does well on a leash but does not seem to like to go potty while leashed. He will hold it until he gets back home. If you need a little extra love in your life, Oliver is your man! Hello my name is Jojo, I'm from Minnesota! Jojo is a gentle, soft-hearted senior with so much love to give. At 13 years young, she’s the perfect blend of sweet and serene—happy to join you for a leisurely walk, then settle in close for a cozy afternoon. She’s wonderful with people of all ages, including children, and enjoys meeting new friends at her own easygoing pace. After some big life changes, Jojo has really found her footing. She’s doing great with housetraining on a consistent schedule (yes, even in the chilly weather!) and has proven to be a trustworthy little lady with free roam when home alone. She doesn’t ask for much—just a predictable routine, a calm space, and someone to share her days with. Jojo is the kind of companion who will quietly steal your heart. She thrives on gentle affection, soft moments, and simply being near her person. Zoey is a seven-month-old Shih Tzu/Maltese mix with the perfect blend of playful puppy energy and sweet cuddle-bug charm. This adorable little girl is currently thriving in her foster home, where she spends her days playing fetch with neighborhood children, exploring the backyard, and curling up on the couch for snuggles at the end of the day. Zoey absolutely lights up when she hears kids nearby and happily runs along the fence to greet her neighborhood friends. She would love a forever home with a fenced yard where she can safely play, explore, and burn off some of her puppy energy. Like any young puppy, Zoey is still learning the ropes. She is smart, eager to please, and enjoys learning new things, but she will need a family committed to continuing her training and socialization. He is, without question, the King of Sleeping. If napping were an Olympic sport, Gary would bring home the gold, the silver, and probably a commemorative snack. When he’s awake, he transforms into a slow‑moving shadow who follows his human around with the dedication of a very mellow bodyguard. He loves short strolls outside where he can sniff the neighborhood news, feel the breeze, and pretend he’s still a spry young lad. Then he returns inside to resume his royal duties: couch snuggling, belly‑rub requesting, and gentle snoring. Gary has a few special senior quirks—he’s partially blind, partially deaf, a little wobbly, and needs eye drops and daily pain meds. Stairs are not his thing, but being carried like the tiny prince he is suits him just fine. He’s working on potty training and does well on a schedule, especially since he sleeps through the night like a champion. At just about 8- 9 pounds, she’s a delicate little soul who has survived more than she lets on. Missing most of her teeth, she sports a permanently peeking tongue, but she doesn’t let that stop her from enjoying life in her own quiet way. Albany is very fearful of human contact and still prefers to keep her distance, often scampering away when approached. She’s cautious with men, women, children, loud noises, and new environments—pretty much anything unfamiliar. But she’s slowly learning that safety exists, and she’s beginning to show tiny glimmers of trust: a tail wag, a quick dash toward her foster to sniff a hand, then a speedy retreat. These small moments are her version of bravery, and her personality is just beginning to come out.  When she goes outside, she likes to do the back scratch boogie, but only if no one is watching because well, she is still working on that confidence.   What truly brings her comfort is the company of other dogs. She blossoms around confident, friendly pups—playing, following their lead, and learning how to be a loved pet by watching them. A companion dog is essential for her continued progress. She would also do well with calm, patient adults who understand that trust for her will come slowly, in tiny steps, over time. This sweet girl is crate trained at night and sleeps quietly in her foster’s bedroom. During the day, she may bark a bit when crated but settles. Potty training is still a work in progress; she knows what she’s supposed to do outside but still has accidents, so diapers are helpful when she can’t be closely supervised. A fenced yard is required, as she is a flight risk and not yet comfortable on a leash.  Although she has started getting a bit better at it, she will still freeze when a car goes by so until she can master the leash, a yard will help keep her safe.   Despite her fears, Albany has shown moments of joy—playing with toys, interacting with other dogs, exploring the yard, and even showing a little goofy side. She has great potential with the right family: one that is patient, gentle, quiet, and willing to let her set the pace.
