I'm Rayme. I'm a sweet maltese/poodle mix boy. I've had a lot of disruption in my life recently. My owner got sick and they couldn't keep me, so I find myself looking for a new spot to call home. I'm crate trained, but am reported to have issues with potty training in the house that will need to be worked out. But, if you put the time into me - I promise to reward you with lots and lots of love. If you're interested in adopting me, fill out an adoption application online at www.polkcountyhumanesociety.org/adopt where you will also find a link to reserve me for an appointment. Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come. Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and St. Louis areas twice monthly. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual. We will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports to Colorado and Iowa, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veterinarian ($35). For transports to St. Louis, the additional fee is $50 to help cover gas. Going that last mile home for our sweet pets! All of our pets are neutered or spayed, have vaccinations appropriate for their age, treated with flea/tick/heartworm prevention, dewormed and dogs are also microchipped. #adoptdontshop ##2888901##

Meet Pearl 🤍 (aka the crusty queen with opinions 💅) Pearl is 3.5 years old, 6lbs, and came to us back in September with 12 other dogs. She’s officially retired from her past life as a “milk dog” mama — done raising babies and finally ready to live life on her terms now. And trust us… she has terms 😂 This girl has come SUCH a long way with socialization, but she’s still very much an independent lady. If you’re looking for a cuddle bug… Pearl said “respectfully, no.” BUT if you’re looking for a bestie who will absolutely smother you in kisses and demand head scratches and has the cutest little wiggle?? She’s your girl 💕 Her favorite hobbies include: 🎾 Throwing her toys for herself (yes, really) 🛋️ Perching on the back of the couch like a tiny gargoyle 💋 Handing out unsolicited kisses 🕺Wiggling when she hears someone say “Pearly girly” Pearl is crate trained and potty trained, though she may need a little refresher in a new home. She thrives on routine — once she learns it, she sticks to it like a pro. ✨ Requirements for Miss Pearl ✨ 🏡 Must own your home 🌳 Fenced-in yard required 🐶 Prefer to be the only dog OR have a very submissive dog sibling (she’s got a little attitude and not everyone appreciates her spice 🌶️) 💋 Must love kisses 🚫 No cuddling expectations She’s still not a fan of being reached for and may need to be leashed or gently led outside, but with patience and consistency, she does great. She has never showed any aggression to people, she just doesn’t fully grasp she’s safe right away. Pearl isn’t for everyone — but for the right person, she’s hilarious, quirky, and so full of personality. Meet Shia, a sweet 5- year- old Maltipoo. She is a world champion snuggler and is looking for someone who does not mind sharing their lap with her as she loves being close to her person. Shia is hard at work conquering the great outdoors and is currently learning to be confident when walking on a leash. As her leash skills are still developing, a secure fenced yard would be best for her so she has a safe place to explore at her leisure. Shia does wonderfully with a consistent potty schedule. She knows just when it's time to head outside for her business, earning enthusiastic praises like the good little lady she is. Shia would do well in a home with a laid back confident canine buddy to help her learn the routine. She is looking for a patient and loving home who will give her a little time to bloom and feel comfortable. We think she would do best with adults or families with older children. This sweet girl brings an endless amount of joy, warmth, and tail wags to everyone she meets! Shia is spayed, up to date on all vaccines, had a heart worm test, on heartworm preventative, de-wormed, had a dental, and microchipped. Shia’s adoption fee is $350.00.
