Meet Otis, a sweet 10 year old boy who is proof that a little love can go a long way! Otis was found as a stray, very matted and in need of some TLC. After a fresh haircut and lots of love, this handsome boy has blossomed into the happiest little guy! Otis is the definition of laid-back. His ideal day consists of sleeping away about 90% of it, preferably snuggled up with his favorite people. But if you happen to be busy and forget to give him attention, don’t worry — he’ll happily wander over and politely smack you with his paws until you get the hint that it’s time for pets!  Otis is blind, but he adapts well and learns his way around. He just needs a little patience while he gets settled into a new space. He’s also house-trained and gets along wonderfully with both dogs and cats! And if his people aren’t available for a cuddle session, Otis is more than happy to find a furry friend to curl up beside for a cozy nap. Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match. ##2862386##

Colby is a good boy. Will be 10 years in January. Have had him since a puppy and he loves to play and being close to his person. I’m going through some life transitions and just want him to have the love and attention he needs that I don’t have the capacity for at this time. Great with kids, playful, has allergies that he gets shots for. No other health or behavioral concerns.

Meet Novalee! Novalee is a 2-year-old Maltese with a BIG personality packed into a 9-pound fuzz ball. She is a highly opinionated little diva who is not afraid to boss you around - in fact, she prefers it!  Novalee is judgmental of strangers (who can blame her!), but when she knows you, get ready for an incredibly affectionate little shadow who will claim her rightful place as Queen of your heart.  Novalee is house trained, crate trained, and gets along just fine with both dogs and cats. She would not do well in a home with young children, so her ideal match would be a quieter household where she gets to define the social hierarchy, enact the laws (always more treats), and rule judiciously from her throne (your lap).  If you’re looking for a tiny companion with a royal-sized personality, a flair for the dramatic, and plenty of love to give once you’re officially approved by the council, Novalee might just be your girl.  If you are interested in adopting Novalee, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.   **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet.
