Story
Due to large number of applications received, we are no longer accepting applicaitons for Benny.   Meet Benny! Benny is an adorable 6-year-old Maltese weighing just 9 pounds, and he is every bit as sweet as his name suggests. This happy little guy has a loving personality and a playful spirit that makes him an absolute joy to be around. Benny gets along great with other dogs and loves to play. Toss a sock or one of his favorite toys, and he’s off to retrieve it! He’ll even bring his toys to you when he’s ready for another round. When playtime is over, Benny is perfectly content being a lap dog and soaking up attention — especially tummy rubs, which are his favorite. He is house trained and will even bark at the back door to let you know when he needs to go outside. Benny rides well in the car, though he can be a little nervous at first. He is currently working on leash training and can get excited and pull, but with consistency, he’ll continue to improve. At bedtime, Benny much prefers snuggling up in bed with his people, though he has also done well sleeping in his own space. He has the cutest little “beg” trick — sitting up on his back legs with his paws in the air — which is sure to melt hearts at mealtime. Sweet, loving, and full of personality, Benny is truly a wonderful little companion ready to bring joy to his forever home.   Applications can be filled out at www.piedmontanimalrescue.com/adopt!  Petfinder and Adopt-A-Pet does NOT send us Applications.   We receive many applications and many never respond after processing GREATLY delaying the pets forever home.  Please only apply if you are serious about adopting.  Please also make sure your pets are up to date on you species applicable Vaccines (rabies, Distemper/Parvo, FVRCP, Bordetella), spayed/neutered, and on Heartworm prevention if a canine.   The adoption fee includes their age appropriate vaccinations(DA2PP and Bordetella), Dewormer, spay/neuter, microchip, heartworm test as well as the registration of their microchip information to you. The first step to adopting is to fill out an application for adoption. Once approved we will arrange a time for you to meet the animal you are interested in. If it is a match the adoption can then be completed and you can take home your new furry family member. If it is not a match we will file your approved application and you can wait till you find the perfect match. ##2636716##

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. INTERESTED IN MEETING OR ADOPTING WALNUT from Best Friend Pet Adoption rescue? If so, please fill out our dog adoption application by copying and pasting this link in a new browser window: https://toolkit.rescuegroups.org/of/f?c=WHMSYCNC.   Meet  Walnut  — a little dog who weighs 11lbs with a big, sunny personality.  Walnut is a 5 year old terrier mix.   Small in size but full of joy, Walnut is fun loving, cheerful and eager to be part of your world.  He thrives on attention and playtime—fetch is a favorite!—but he’s also wonderfully adaptable. When you’re busy with human stuff, Walnut is perfectly content to settle down at your feet, happy just to be near you.    He is used to having people home during the day, and does not do well if left alone for long periods. Since he is a very people-centric dog, an adopter who works from home or is home most of the time will be the best fit for him.    This good boy comes with excellent house manners and is crate trained.  He knows basic commands like sit and stay.  He has been trained not to race out of the door for a walk, but to allow you to go out first. He is very alert and will bark if anyone comes to the house.     Walnut will respect his boundaries like staying off certain furniture or waiting patiently by the dinner table during mealtimes. He listens well to a calm, confident leader. He's not food- or toy-aggressive.     Walnut is a good walker on leash, though a bit on the toddling, slow side. He does not need a fenced yard and is used to walks. He loves his twice daily 30-minute walks plus a few short ones to do his business.    Walnut would be an ideal companion for a single adopter who wants a devoted sidekick. He has been a one-person dog although he might learn to do well in a family setting with older kids if given a good initial effort at socialization to help him feel comfortable in new situations. He has not been exposed to living with cats or other dogs.  One delightful bonus? Walnut has been spotted standing on his back legs  just to get a better look at something—an impressive little feat that hints he could be a natural for agility training  or other fun, confidence-building activities. The video shows him searching for food hidden in a blanket!  Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed.  Applicants ideally should live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized.  Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions.  We therefore prefer applicants that live within an hours drive of Cary NC.    INTERESTED IN ADOPTING WALNUT ? Story
Looking for your next furry BFF? We don’t have perfect dogs — but we do have dogs who are perfect for the right someone. Our goal is to match each dog with the home that fits them best and each home with the dog that will sing to your heart. Ready to adopt? Complete an application at Application – Carolina Poodle Rescue   Date into Rescue: 07/15/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Mike was found as a stray and landed at a NC shelter. Carolina Poodle Rescue pulled him from the shelter. Foster location: Foster Home in Raleigh, NC Special Needs? Mike is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. Mike arrived in rescue with a right eye thta had collapsed and needed to be removed. He has a permanent wink! He has a cataract in his left eye. Given his age estimate, we have elected not to attempt restorative vision surgery on the left eye. He will be adopted on a medical addendum that acknowledges this. Our best estimate is that Mike is a maltese mix, but only a DNA test will tell. We won't guarantee that he is hypoallergenic or that he won't shed. Weight: 8 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $199 -  This adoption fee will be increasing effective 11/01/2025. Fence needed? No, though he'd love one What kind of home would be best for me? Mike is a dog that wants his people. He is in a foster home with large and small dogs, as well as cats. While he is fine with them, he does like to boss them around and would be happier as your only dog. He's indifferent to cats. Mike enjoys being outside and would welcome daily walks. He understands if you work outside of the home, as long as you can provide a mid-day potty break. Mike is equal parts independent and snuggly. He is definitely not a velcro dog, but has a big heart that he's eager to share. What is my personality like? Meet Mike, a smaller senior with one eye and the energy of a teenager! He’s a little bossy with his canine siblings—quick to bark and remind them he’s the big man on campus—but with people, he’s all play, bounces, and the cutest yoga poses. Mike loves sniffing around his fenced yard, would be a great walking buddy, and rides well in the car. While toys don’t interest him much, he makes up for it with his love of big, comfy beds where he happily snoozes at night. Mike is continuing to work on house training in his foster home. We strongly recommend belly bands for this sometimes-naughty boy! Mike is ready to bring joy, laughter, and a little bit of sass to his forever home. How do I act when I first meet new people? Mike is a friendly guy. He's going to give you an introductory sniff and then will jump up on your leg for pets. If you're really lucky, he'll show you his best downward dog yoga pose and ask you to play! Other tips and tidbits: The shelter estimated Mike at 13 years old and celebrates his birthday 07/5/2012. He acts MUCH younger than his.  House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Potential Adopters Dogs can’t drive — and since we’re busy taking care of them, we can’t either! Please check your potential BFF’s location and make sure you’re comfortable traveling to meet them. Want updates and ways to help? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Prissy -Sonsorship Only-In a hospice foster home   Sweet 16-year-old Prissy came to Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue as an owner surrender who no longer wanted to pay the medical bills associated with a senior dog.   Prissy is missing quite a bit of fur, has a small mass, and after careful evaluation, our vet determined that she is not healthy enough to survive surgery. Because of this, Prissy will remain in our care as a hospice pup, living out her golden days in a loving foster home where she will receive the best medical care, attention, and comfort we can give. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143   We are committed to giving Prissy all the love she deserves, but we can't do it without your help. Her ongoing medical needs — including medications, special food, frequent vet visits, and comfort care — add up quickly. If you can, please consider making a donation to support Prissy's care. Every dollar truly makes a difference for her.   Donate here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=VJEXAFXEE84BE   Thank you for being part of our village and helping us give Prissy the life she should have had all along. She may not have years left, but she will know love every single day she has. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 9, 2025, 9:51 am
