Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Prissy   Sweet 16-year-old Prissy came to Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue as an owner surrender. While her former family tried to love her, it was clear they didn’t have the time or means to provide the care she desperately needed.   Prissy is missing quite a bit of fur, has a small mass, and after careful evaluation, our vet determined that she is not healthy enough to survive surgery. Because of this, Prissy will remain in our care as a hospice pup, living out her golden days in a loving foster home where she will receive the best medical care, attention, and comfort we can give. &#226&#157&#164&#239&#184&#143   Terri spent most of Monday lovingly grooming this little doll, helping her feel clean, soft, and beautiful again. Prissy will be heading to her hospice foster home on Wednesday, where she will be surrounded by love and kindness for the rest of her days.   We are committed to giving Prissy all the love she deserves, but we can't do it without your help. Her ongoing medical needs — including medications, special food, frequent vet visits, and comfort care — add up quickly. If you can, please consider making a donation to support Prissy's care. Every dollar truly makes a difference for her.   Donate here: https://www.paypal.com/donate/?hosted_button_id=VJEXAFXEE84BE   Thank you for being part of our village and helping us give Prissy the life she should have had all along. She may not have years left, but she will know love every single day she has. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 28, 2025, 8:31 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Tinkerbell This tiny 4-month-old Maltese may be small in size, but her story is already huge in heart. Tinkerbell came to us as a breeder surrender because she was born with a Grade 4 heart murmur. The breeder’s plan? Euthanasia. But thankfully, our fearless leader Terri—unlike Nancy Reagan—just can’t say “no.” And thank goodness for that. Tinkerbell is NOT available for adoption at this time. She is safe and sound in a loving foster home, where she’s being closely monitored as we prepare for the next steps in her care. Our priority now is getting Tinkerbell evaluated by a veterinary cardiologist. These appointments aren’t cheap, and she’ll likely need ongoing treatment. If you can, please consider donating toward her medical fund so we can give this sweet girl the chance she deserves. Every dollar helps. Donate here: https://www.every.org/rainbow-bridge-hospice-rescue/f/rescued-from-euthanasia Thank you for standing with us and believing in the worth of every life—especially the tiniest ones. We’ll keep you updated on her journey. For now, send Tinkerbell your love. She’s already captured our hearts—we know she’ll capture yours, too. &#226&#156&#168 #TinkerbellStrong #RainbowBridgeHospiceRescue #SeniorDogsRock #TinyButMighty #MalteseMagicVisit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.April 24, 2025, 12:27 pm

Story
Oakley is a 12 year old, 7 lb. Maltese. Are you a homebody who is looking for unconditional love and has an open lap and free hand to dole out lots of pets? Then little Oakley is the boy for you! This sweet older gentleman is ready to find his forever home where he can take some short walks with you in a doggie stroller, but mostly relax in a calm, loving, and secure environment with his people. Oakley has cataracts and is mostly blind but that doesn't stop him from getting around! We could all take a lesson from Oakley in how to live life to the fullest - he is always happy, content, and very easy going! He is house-trained when he follows a routine, but does well in diapers too. He has excellent house manners would do best in a home where his family is home more often than not as he doesn't like being alone too long and gets sad if you have to leave. Oakley enjoys going out in his fenced in backyard where he can safely roam around as his foster mom him. He has the best time getting all his exploratory sniffs in for the day! He has never met a stranger, but would do best in a home with a retired person or couple or adults or a calmer family who is home often. He does well with other dogs and would do best with a dog who matches his energy level. Oakley is so full of love and just deserves a second chance - he promises you won't regret choosing him! Apply to meet Oakley today! Comprehensive details are provided in the dog's description. to ensure a smooth process, please submit a completed application through our website at: http://crisisdogsnc.org/dog-adoption/. Please note that questions via email or social media channels may not receive a response without a completed application. As part of our commitment to responsible adoption practices, we require excellent veterinarian references and conduct virtual home visits. Additionally, your prior or current dog must be on year-round heartworm prevention. We provide transportation by both land and air whenever feasible. All assessments regarding breed and age are conducted by licensed veterinarians. We look forward to assisting you in finding your perfect canine companion!April 21, 2025, 12:31 pm

Story
Meet Frieza; the sweetest explorer with a heart of gold! Though he is deaf, he doesn’t let that slow him down one bit. He’s full of life, curiosity, and love. This affectionate boy is amazing with other dogs and adores children. He has playful bursts of puppy-like energy but knows how to relax and enjoy the calm moments too. He’s house-trained, crate-trained, and prefers curling up in his crate at night. He thrives with another dog around, often taking comfort in following their lead. His adventurous spirit and gentle nature make him the perfect companion for a family who’s ready to give him the love he deserves.

Good with dogs,
Story
Thank you for your interest in dog who needs a new home.  Adoption can be one of the most fulfilling experiences in your life and especially in the life of your new canine companion. A note to those looking at CPR.  We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone.  Our job is to find those someone's.  Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog.  They come to us because they want to give a dog a home.  We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture.  While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face.  Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home.  We want to create furever families.  Our descriptions contain all that we know about this dog today.  We'll update as more information is known.  Are you looking to adopt within the next 30 days?  If so please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and complete the application.  You'll find it in the menu on the left hand side.  You'll also find a total listing of all our dogs available.  Just browsing but interested in poodles and poodle mixes?  Please drop a note to applications@carolinapoodlerescue.org with your name, address and phone # and email.  We'll add you to our mailing list. thanks the CPR Adoption team   Date into Rescue: 2/13/2025 Reason for being in rescue: Found as a stray Foster location: Dreamweaver Farms, Pacolet SC Special Needs? Ethan is neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. On 3/12/25 he had a dental polishing. Ethan has a grade 3/6 heart murmur. He is not currently on medicine but will need ongoing monitoring. Ethan has some mobility challenges, specifically in his back legs. He has been examined by our veterinarian and confirmed weakness and ataxia in his hindquarters, likely from an old injury (there was no radiographic evidence of the injury). He was given cold laser therapy. Ethan has difficulty working on slick floors and absolutely cannot do stairs. Full x-rays will be provided to Ethan's adopter. Weight: 11 lbs Height: 12 in Spayed/Neutered: Yes Adoption Fee: $299 Fence needed? Yes - due to his back and leg issues, leash walking isn’t the most comfortable option for Ethan. Therefore, he needs a personal space where he can free roam, play with other canines and get exercise daily.  What kind of home would be best for me? Ethan is a handsome boy looking for a very specific home. First, Ethan requires another dog. He enjoys the companionship of having a lifelong friend, and here at the rescue it’s all he has ever known! He loves dogs that are equivalent in size and energy in comparison to him. Ethan needs healthy, moderate exercise to maintain a healthy weight and lifestyle, but he will NOT be placed in a home where he has to use stairs daily. Ethan has to be carried up and down stairs to prevent further injuries. He is a fragile boy, and stairs would be too much stress and danger for him. He also requires a fenced in yard and it doesn’t have to be extremely large. Due to his back and leg issues, leash walking isn’t the most comfortable option for him, therefore he needs a personal space where he can free roam, play with other canines and get exercise daily.  Our best guess is that Ethan is a maltese mix. Only a DNA test will confirm. Because he has a completely unknown past, we cannot guarantee that he is hypoallergenic or that he won't shed or cause allergy issues. What is my personality like? Meet Ethan - the world’s sweetest speed bump! This lovable goofball may have a little trouble walking around sometimes, and thinks stairs are an extreme sport! But what Ethan may lack in agility, he makes up for in pure heart! Ethan’s favorite activities include rolling over for frequent belly rubs, giving the most dramatic puppy eyes when he wants to be held, and being your #1 cuddle champion when treats are involved! Ethan is a pretty laid back dude, he doesn’t need much to keep him happy and entertained. He enjoys the sunshine, and simple things life has to offer. He will also not be placed in a home with children. He is fragile and needs a calm, laid back lifestyle.  Ethan requires another dog. Besides stairs, he has learned how to get around extremely well, and he doesn’t pay his silly little walk much mind. Despite Ethan’s quirks, he has no idea he’s slightly different from everyone else. Ethan wants to be loved, adored and chauffeured around like a VIP (Very Important Pup) just like any other dog! He is the consummate snuggler, nuzzling your hand to remind you he's there if you forget. If you’re ready for a best friend who’s all love, and no stairs, Ethan is waiting for you! How do I act when I first meet new people? Friendly Other tips and tidbits: Ethan was found as a stray, so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition he is estimated at 8 years old. We celebrate his birthday 2/7/2017! House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule as long as a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained.  A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule. Please note - we do not ship dogs.  If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip.  Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.   To apply, please visit our webpage at www.carolinapoodlerescue.org and visit the tab on the left that directions you to the online application. Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home.   You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc.  Others here may be a better fit for you.  It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description.  Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a  dog not in our listings yet.  We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you. Thank you for considering CPR. April 10, 2025, 6:13 am
