Story
The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, northern GA, east TN, DC area, VA, and southern MD. If you are interested in adopting this dog, you MUST contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com directly. There is an application process and adoption fee. ----------- Rosie is a 4-year-old Yorkie/Maltese mix who weighs around 1l.5lbs.  Rosie has a calm spirit and a unique personality. If you ever thought to yourself, I would love to have a dog who acts like a cat, Rosie is your girl! She is content to lie near you on the couch; however, she is not a lap dog. She will lay at the foot of the bed, on the second pillow, or peacefully in her crate at night. Her favorite toy is a Nyla bone and the occasional piece of crushed ice. She is proudly not a high-maintenance pup. Rosie came from a hoarding situation with over 29 dogs in the home, hence her unique personality. Rosie really watches and learns from the dogs in her foster home.  We prefer her adoptive home have another small social dog, not larger than 15 pounds. Rosie has good energy around other dogs and often gets into the dog beds or an open crate with them. She looks to the other dogs to see how they react when experiencing something new.  Rosie is cautious around new people, especially men, so it will take time for her to warm up. We are asking for an all-female home for Rosie. During her time with us, she has shown she only responds to women and will not go out the door with a man to go potty. She's not an attention seeker but will definitely capture your heart. She has a peaceful presence. Whoever adopts Rosie will need to understand her “breeder pup” issues and be willing to give the space she needs. Rosie has come so far, but it has taken time. Rosie is crate trained and doing very well with leash walking.  We require a securely fenced yard for Rosie so she can have the opportunity to be safely supervised in her own yard, plus a fenced yard is an added layer of safety, because Rosie is quick! The first few months in her foster home Rosie tended to run away when scared instead of to her foster mom. That’s the breeder pup in her. Rosie requires weekly combing even though her hair does not mat easily. Her hair does grow fast, so her adopter needs to be up for frequent grooming.  The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, northern GA, east TN, DC area, VA, and southern MD. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact h2hadoptions@gmail.com. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD.  The secure fence must be attached to the home, 4 feet or higher with gaps no larger than 1 1/2 inches and attached to the home.  An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace without grass, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500May 25, 2026, 10:43 pm

Story
Trixie is a charming 5 yr old Yorkshire Terrier mix, weighing in at a petite 8 pounds. With her adorable looks and possible touch of Maltese in her genes, Trixie is sure to steal your heart from the moment you meet her. Trixie bonds quickly and is loving, affectionate, and playful. She thrives on attention and enjoys being with her people. Her foster mom describes her as a wonderful snuggler who is happiest cuddled up next to you, especially at bedtime. Trixie is always ready to share her warmth and love, making her the perfect companion for someone seeking a devoted furry friend. Trixie is making great progress on leash walks and enjoys exploring with her human. However, she’s quick on her feet and will dart for an open door, so her adoptive family will need to be vigilant around exterior doorways and prepared to manage an energetic little dog. Trixie is still working on her housetraining skills, so patience and a willingness to continue her training are important qualities in her future home. While Trixie was surrendered with another Yorkie, we believe she would flourish best as the only dog in her new home. She loves getting attention from her foster family and tends to want all the affection for herself. If you’re looking for a sweet, loving companion who wants nothing more than to be your best friend, Trixie is the one for you. Story
With heavy hearts, we are looking to rehome our beloved Whiskey due to an upcoming move. Whiskey is a Chihuahua/Maltese mix with the sweetest personality and a true couch potato at heart. He would make a wonderful companion for an elderly individual or couple looking for a loyal little friend. Whiskey loves lounging around, eating snacks, and soaking up all the pets and attention he can get. He has spent his whole life with his sibling Lucy (who is also looking for a loving home) and has been raised alongside our three children. He is gentle, loving, and used to being part of a family. While Whiskey is not a fan of grooming, once he’s cleaned up, his fur is incredibly soft and fluffy. More than anything, we want to find him a safe, loving forever home where he will be cherished just as much — if not more — than he has been with us. Please message me if you think you could give Whiskey the loving home he deserves.
