Little Apollo came to FDHS as a stray alongside his bestie Artemis. He’s estimated to be around 6 years old and we are guessing him to be a Poodle mix with a whole lot of personality packed into a very small frame.Apollo might be a little guy, but he fully believes he is “large and in charge.” He’s got big feelings, a little bit of sass, and absolutely no awareness of how small he actually is. He carries himself like he runs the place, even if he could be mistaken for a well-loved stuffed animal.Once he’s comfortable, Apollo is social and engaging, with a confident streak that comes out more and more as he settles in. New people and situations can take him a moment to warm up to, but he adjusts with time and consistency. He does well on leash and enjoys getting out for strolls at his own pace. He would prefer a low-traffic, calm home with a cozy spot where he can keep an eye on everything.Apollo would love to be adopted with Artemis, since they came in together and definitely seem to bring each other comfort. However, he could also do well on his own as long as he has a patient home that understands his spicy little “boss dog” personality.

This little floof is Artemis!Artemis came to FDHS as a stray with her best friend Apollo (also available!). We’re estimating she’s around 6 years old and she looks like some kind of Poodle mix.She’s a small girl with big feelings and an even bigger voice to go with them. Artemis can be a little shy when meeting new people, but she warms up with patience and once she’s comfortable, her sweet side really starts to come through.She walks nicely on leash and enjoys getting out and adventuring. At the end of the day, she’s happiest curled up in her dog bed, settled in and relaxed.Artemis would really love to be adopted with Apollo, since they came in together and clearly have a great friendship going. That said, she could also do well in a home on her own as long as she has a patient person willing to give her time to adjust.

The adoption fee helps allow Perfect Paws to provide all animals with current, age appropriate vaccinations which include, DHLPP, Kennel Cough and Rabies (if the pet is at least 13 weeks old), and spay/neuter when necessary.  The fee also helps with the cost of deworming; heartworm testing (if the pet is at least 1 year old), heartworm prevention as well as flea and tick prevention for animals cared for through the rescue.
