Meet Taffy! Taffy is a four year old, 10 pound Morkie (a Maltese Yorkie mix). Taffy is a quiet and docile little dog that has no idea what it means to be loved and spoiled but she’s learning what it’s like to have a gentle hand scratch her behind the ears and give her a warm lap to sleep on. She enjoys being wrapped in a warm blanket and being held. Taffy feels comfortable in her crate but likes to cautiously venture out to explore her new surroundings. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, even accepting several kittens sleeping on top of her. She’s still a bit confused by what to do with toys and dog beds. Taffy will benefit from a consistent routine to learn house training and leash training. She will need someone with the patience to let her personality blossom as she gains confidence in her new environment. Taffy would also thrive in a home with another similar-sized, confident, well-adjusted dog to help guide her and build her confidence. One thing Taffy does know is what she likes to eat! She can be a bit picky and prefers canned dog food and absolutely loves chicken. Olivander (a.k.a. Ollie) is such a loving, kind, and loyal little guy. We received Ollie after a family divorce and have had him ever since. He is 6 years old currently, has all his shots and some missing teeth due needing them removed about 3 years ago. Ollie spends a lot of his time following you around once he's comfortable, and loves you just as much as you love him. While he might come off a little shy at first, he will warm up to you with time as you give him the love and attention he deserves. He is truly a lover, not a fighter.Our family loves this little man and we hate to see him go, but we are in the process of moving and unfortunately cannot take him with us.We need him to go to a loving home that will give him the royal treatment he deserves. Little Apollo came to FDHS as a stray alongside his bestie Artemis. He’s estimated to be around 6 years old and we are guessing him to be a Poodle mix with a whole lot of personality packed into a very small frame.Apollo might be a little guy, but he fully believes he is “large and in charge.” He’s got big feelings, a little bit of sass, and absolutely no awareness of how small he actually is. He carries himself like he runs the place, even if he could be mistaken for a well-loved stuffed animal.Once he’s comfortable, Apollo is social and engaging, with a confident streak that comes out more and more as he settles in. New people and situations can take him a moment to warm up to, but he adjusts with time and consistency. He does well on leash and enjoys getting out for strolls at his own pace. He would prefer a low-traffic, calm home with a cozy spot where he can keep an eye on everything.Apollo would love to be adopted with Artemis, since they came in together and definitely seem to bring each other comfort. However, he could also do well on his own as long as he has a patient home that understands his spicy little “boss dog” personality.

This little floof is Artemis!Artemis came to FDHS as a stray with her best friend Apollo (also available!). We’re estimating she’s around 6 years old and she looks like some kind of Poodle mix.She’s a small girl with big feelings and an even bigger voice to go with them. Artemis can be a little shy when meeting new people, but she warms up with patience and once she’s comfortable, her sweet side really starts to come through.She walks nicely on leash and enjoys getting out and adventuring. At the end of the day, she’s happiest curled up in her dog bed, settled in and relaxed.Artemis would really love to be adopted with Apollo, since they came in together and clearly have a great friendship going. That said, she could also do well in a home on her own as long as she has a patient person willing to give her time to adjust.
