Story
My sweet Linnie 💗 Linnie is a 10 year old Maltese little lady who was time stamped at ACCT Philly. Her owners surrendered her to the shelter because it was obvious by her breath that she needed a dental and they said they could not afford it. The team at Zoe’s House, with the help of our wonderful community, got her free of the euthanasia list and into a loving foster home. She was determined to have a serious heart murmur but with medication, she was cleared to undergo surgery to be spayed and to have a dental where the diseased teeth were removed. It was also determined that Linnie has some mammary masses, likely from not being spayed early in her life, which are likely cancerous. Her heart and age caution against the prolonged surgery to remove these masses. Linnie is on a daily heart medication and gabapentin for any discomfort. Linnie is unbothered. She is a lady who knows what she likes and what she wants. She enjoys her meals, long naps thereafter and loving in between. She travels fabulously in the car and walks well on a leash. She loves a pup cup 😋She is house trained and cares not for the crate. She doesn’t need it. She is a true lady who is just hoping to enjoy her golden years close by her human. She is being fostered with other small dogs and tolerates respectful interaction but she would love to be the center of your eye and heart. She is a joy❤️ Linnie is being fostered in Collegeville, Montgomery County. A home visit and meet and greet with all residents is part of the application process. She is up to date with vaccines and preventatives. She is microchipped. Story
Meet Skippy; a 9.5yr old Morkie (Maltese/Yorkie) mix who will be 10 in January. He reminds his foster family of a sour patch kid; sweet one minute, sour the next. It all depends on what mood Skippy is in & how tired he may be. He absolutely loves his foster momma, but is hesitant of his foster dad. He will allow his foster dad to play ball or throw toys, but hasn’t allowed him to handle him or even pet him. Skippy is good at letting you know if he is okay with things by either allowing it, or, growling, baring teeth or trying to nip. He definitely has a Napoleon complex, aka little dog syndrome, & likes to try to rule the roost. He isn’t allowed to lay on his foster momma’s lap, but instead has his own dog bed he can lay in further down the couch.  Overnight, or when his fosters aren’t home, Skippy is crated. He does very well in the crate & doesn’t make a peep unless he hears something that alarms him. He isn’t allowed to sleep in bed with his foster family due to his potential to bite when moved. To keep Skippy’s bad habits in check, he gets crated.  Skippy is fully potty trained & hasn’t had any accidents! He is leash trained & walks well with a harness. On walks he may act a fool if he sees another dog, but it’s only his false “big man” bravado that comes out, otherwise does his business & walks well.  Skippy is being fostered with other pups, but has only really showed a liking to a couple; small breed, older, submissive, not wanting the spotlight females. He has played outdoors with two of the small breed males, but tends to puff his chest out & act the toughest! Indoors is another story; he doesn’t like them in what he considers his “space” & his Napoleon complex comes out & tries to pick fights. A fence is not required as long as the owner will walk him regularly.  Skippy’s ideal home would be a low traffic one with one or two owners; preferably female. Due to his little dog syndrome he shouldn’t be homed with children. He is cat friendly & doesn’t seem to care about sharing his home with them, or so his foster family was told. Ideally, it would be great for him to be an only dog, but we think he would be okay living with a low key, submissive, older female that isn’t the type to be in his face or push his buttons. Hopefully Skippy’s ideal home is out there & he can bask in all his glory for the rest of his elder years! Skippy is now neutered, up to date with vaccines and microchipped. He did just have a dental in July before coming to us. His adoption fee is $50.00.If you are interested in adopting Skippy,  please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application. Story
Meet Melodie. Melodie is an 8 year old 6lb Maltese rescued from a commercial breeding kennel.  Melodie does fine in her crate. She loves everyone and doesn't hesitate to interact with the dogs in her foster home. She would also be happy as an only dog with a Mom or Dad who is home a lot to cuddle and spoil her. Melodie only has two teeth left after she had her dental so she will to stay on soft food. She's a good eater. In addition to the dental extraction surgery, Melodie also had a mammory tumor removed.  It was sent for biopsy and it was benign thank goodness. Melodie is very fast for her age. She will run off if given the chance. I would suggest an XS harness and leash at all times - even with a fenced-in yard. She could definitely slip through the smallest spot. Melodie lays down in the water while being bathed and doesn't move a muscle while getting her nails done. She likes the hair dryer. After all she has been through Melodie still continued to wag her tail and is the sweetest little dog who deserves a great furever home. She will need work on potty training. Her adoption fee is $250.00.If you are interested in adopting Melodie, please visit our website www.lharinc.org go to Adopt and complete the dog adoption application. Logan's Heroes Animal Rescue 9411 Kings Highway, East Greenville, PA 18041. Pennsylvania Kennel License #13036.  ***the brown stain is due to poor diet at the kennel and with proper food and care and grooming, it will fade.*** ##2580452##
