This little sweetheart came to us as an owner surrender from a family that could no longer take care of him. Rocky is a 1.5-year-old playful and snuggly pup who loves being around his people! He’s working hard on his housetraining and will need a family willing to be consistent and encouraging as he continues to learn. Rocky would do best with an active family who can take him on lots of walks, as he has a ton of puppy energy! He does not like to be in a crate or contained; he prefers to be where his people are. He loves toys, affection, and being part of the family. Rocky would do well with dog-savvy children who understand how to give a dog space when needed. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. Because of his difficult past, he is still learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and part of a family. Mark Anthony will need a patient and understanding home that is willing to give her the time and love he deserves.  He is recovering from an ear infection and will need continued care as he heals. He has had a hematoma in one of his ears, which caused it to shrink and thicken. He is working on housetraining. He will sometimes use pee pads, but accidents should be expected as he continues to learn. He is very skittish and scared, but has started to accept love and is slowly learning that people can be kind. He is considered a flight risk and should always be kept on a leash or in a fenced yard. He can be fairly vocal when he wants something but is overall very shy. Mark Anthony is very reserved. He prefers relaxing in his bed or snuggling up beside you on the couch.
