Adoption Donation  $699 for the pr Located: New England (Transportation costs included to the Northeast , plz ask for more details) Age: approx   8-9 years old Weight: 11 lbs. Meet Octavia & Mark Anthony  Octavia and Mark Anthony are siblings who were rescued from a breeder, where they spent years living in crates. Because of their difficult past, they are still learning what it means to feel safe, loved, and part of a family. They will need a patient and understanding home that is willing to give them the time, love, and guidance they deserve. They are estimated to be around 8 years old.  Both are recovering from severe ear infections and will need continued care and patience as they heal.  They are working on housetraining. They are making progress and will sometimes use pee pads, but accidents should be expected as they continue to learn.  They are still very skittish and scared, but they have started to accept love and are slowly learning that people can be kind and trustworthy.  They can be fairly vocal when they feel they aren't getting enough attention and will let you know when they'd like some extra love!  Octavia is energetic and playful. She loves being active and is beginning to discover how much fun life outside a crate can be.  Mark Anthony is more reserved. He prefers relaxing in his bed or snuggling up beside you on the couch.  They need someone who is home often, patient, and willing to hold them, love them, take them on walks, and gently show them how wonderful life as a beloved family member can be. These two have been through so much, and they are finally learning what it feels like to be safe. With patience, consistency, and lots of love, Octavia and Mark Anthony have the chance to blossom into the happy, loving companions they were always meant to be.  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information: ebfosters1@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. Story
Ekko & Mimi's Story Ekko (black and tan, male, 15 lbs) and Mimi (tan & white, female, 11 lbs) are an adorable bonded pair looking for a home where they can stay together forever! These sweet pups are house trained, crate trained, and have an easygoing, medium energy level that makes them a great fit for many different homes. They absolutely love people and enjoy playing with kids of all ages. Friendly and social, they are not fearful or reactive and have wonderfully happy personalities. Their favorite pastime is romping around the backyard together and playing with their small stuffed toys before settling in for some relaxation time. Ekko and Mimi are easy to walk on leash and could do well in an apartment or home environment as long as they get their daily exercise and playtime. Theyre relatively quiet overall, though they may bark a little when they see activity outside the fence — but once outside, they are calm and content explorers. Like many playful dogs, they do enjoy chasing cats, so a cat-free home would be best for this duo. If youre looking for two loving companions who already adore each other and are ready to bring double the joy into your life, Ekko and Mimi may be the perfect match! Ekko and Mimi are both about 8-10 yrs old. They are currently being fostered in Houston, TX and are available locally or out of state to the Northeast. If adopted out of state, they would come to their new home via professional transport. Email info@joyrides.org to request an application!

Story
Meet Mateo Mateo is a charming little guy with a big personality packed into just 8.4 pounds. He’s social, affectionate, and happiest when he can be close to his people—especially if that means climbing into your lap, snuggling up against your chest, and tucking his head right under your neck. He does well with other dogs and is happy to meet new canine friends. Mateo is also great in his crate and settles well when left alone for short periods. He’s still working on house training and can have some marking accidents, so he’ll benefit from a family willing to keep up with a consistent routine and positive reinforcement. Mateo enjoys walks, but he definitely has opinions about when and how fast they happen! Sometimes he’ll happily follow along—especially if there are people ahead to catch up with—and other times he may plant his feet and prefer to move at his own pace. A home with a small fenced yard would be a great fit, giving him a safe place to explore without any pressure to keep up. He enjoys chew toys, puzzle toys, fetch toys, and one of his favorite games involves batting at or grabbing a toy dangling from a string. His foster family jokes that he might be part cat! Mateo can be a little stubborn, but he learns quickly and is making progress with cues like “come” and “sit.” Cheese is a particularly convincing training reward. He may bark at visitors, strangers, or the doorbell from time to time, but it isn’t constant. One of Mateo’s most endearing habits? He’s a professional nose-booper. He may not cover you in kisses, but he has his own adorable way of showing affection. Mateo would thrive with a family who appreciates his quirky personality, gives him time to build confidence, and is happy to let this little guy move through life at his own pace. In return, he’ll bring plenty of cuddles, companionship, and boops.   This dog is up to date on vaccinations and is spayed or neutered. (Please note: Puppies under 3 months old may not be sterilized prior to adoption. If this is the case, your adoption coordinator will provide guidance on the process.)   To adopt or learn more about this dog, you must complete an adoption application, which can be found on our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   PLEASE READ:     •    If a dog or puppy is listed, they are currently available for adoption. However, they may already be pending an adoption, and their profile may not yet reflect this.     •    All information is accurate to the best of our knowledge as of the posting date.     •    Unless explicitly stated, Sandy Paws Rescue does not guarantee the breed of any dog. Breeds listed are educated guesses made by shelter staff, volunteers, or veterinarians. Many of our dogs are mixed breeds, often with pit bull-type genetics, resulting in a wide variety of physical traits and temperaments.   Our dogs come from various situations, such as kill shelters, owner surrenders, or as strays. It is likely both parents were mixed breeds as well.   Sandy Paws Rescue does not have a public shelter in Massachusetts. Our dogs reside in private foster homes or boarding kennels in the South until adopted. Many dogs are spoken for prior to transport or release from state-mandated isolation.   For information on adoption fees, procedures, or FAQs, visit our website: www.sandypawsrescue.com.   The FIRST step in adopting from Sandy Paws Rescue is to submit a completed adoption application.   ##2801244##
