Story
Paki is a Hispanic dog, he understands only spanish words. He's very good and loves to cuddle. He gets real bad anxiety when left alone, when grooming or loud sounds. There's nothing wrong with him but his separation anxiety is putting us in a bad spot. He needs a home that can be with him and give him the love he needs. He's 9 years old this August and has been neutered.

Or, how about these Maltese in cities near Providence, Rhode Island

These Maltese are available for adoption close to Providence, Rhode Island.

Story
Meet Maeve! This sweet girl didn't have a great start to life. She came to us incredibly matted - so matted that it was painful, she couldn't see, and every touch was terrifying because she couldn't see it coming and didn't know what was happening. She's only about 18mo old. With how matted and overgrown she was, she had probably NEVER been groomed. Considering she is a maltese/yorkie mix, you can imagine how that must have looked/felt for her.Maeve is, understandably, wary of the world. She's only about 12lbs and the world is ENROMOUS and there is a lot that she doesn't understand. It's not her fault. She's just a baby and there are so many things she's never been exposed to and so many experiences she's never had. Getting her used to walking on a leash was a process but one of our dedicated staff members has taken it upon herself to make Maeve her "project" and Maeve has come a long way!Maeve will need a family that has the time and patience to invest into her. They will need to understand that she can and will snap/nip out of fear so going slow with her is a MUST. She does well with other dogs (bouncy, high-energy dogs do spook her so calmer, low-key dogs would be best) and she does well with cats. We are looking for an adult only home but older teenagers should be fine.Once Maeve trusts you, she's a velcro pup. She just wants to be inside of your skin with you. She'll snuggle up in your lap, you can pick her up, touch her all over, etc. You just need to put in the work to get to that point with her.To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Once complete, you can email it to us at fpas1@foreverpaws.com or fax it to us at 508-677-9175.

Story
Ekko & Mimi's Story Ekko (black and tan, male, 15 lbs) and Mimi (tan & white, female, 11 lbs) are an adorable bonded pair looking for a home where they can stay together forever! These sweet pups are house trained, crate trained, and have an easygoing, medium energy level that makes them a great fit for many different homes. They absolutely love people and enjoy playing with kids of all ages. Friendly and social, they are not fearful or reactive and have wonderfully happy personalities. Their favorite pastime is romping around the backyard together and playing with their small stuffed toys before settling in for some relaxation time. Ekko and Mimi are easy to walk on leash and could do well in an apartment or home environment as long as they get their daily exercise and playtime. They’re relatively quiet overall, though they may bark a little when they see activity outside the fence — but once outside, they are calm and content explorers. Like many playful dogs, they do enjoy chasing cats, so a cat-free home would be best for this duo. If you’re looking for two loving companions who already adore each other and are ready to bring double the joy into your life, Ekko and Mimi may be the perfect match! Ekko and Mimi are both about 8-10 yrs old. They are currently being fostered in Houston, TX and are available locally or out of state to the Northeast. If adopted out of state, they would come to their new home via professional transport. Email info@joyrides.org to request an application!
