Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. This gorgeous girl came to us after life in a cage as a breeding dog, without a name, never knowing the comfort of a loving home. She was unceremoniously dumped by her breeder, and we were asked to help, and, of course we said yes. Cleopatra is now relaxing and an awesome foster home where she's learning to live life as a pampered pet. She is a very, very sweet girl! Cleopatra loves affection, and is gentle, mild mannered, rather timid, and great with other dogs. She's also smart and responsive to training – she did not know how to go up and down a flight of stairs when she arrived in foster care, but within a few days with practice, she learned. She's also made great progress with walking on leash and exploring her environment. Cleopatra does need work with house training and settling into a normal family routine. Everything is brand new to her! And she does not know her name or come when called, so she could never be off leash outside of a securely fenced area. We're confident with time, patience, and consistency Cleopatra will make progress! This lovely Malti-Poo came to us from a local owner who could no longer keep her because of some health issues the owner was experiencing. We were asked to help and of course we said yes! Rita is now relaxing in a wonderful foster home while she waits to be discovered by a family of her own. We're just getting to know her, and first impression is that she's an absolute sweetheart! Rita is great with other dogs, energetic and playful, and a ton of fun.
