Please contact Karen (Karenslavin24@gmail.com) for more information about this pet. Adoption Donation   $399 Located: RI  Age: approx   7 yrs  old Weight:  12  lbs.    Bailey a really sweet boy, but he's quirky and can have his grouchy moments! He doesn't like to be picked up, unless he fully trusts you. And he'll give a warning growl if you're petting him the wrong way. But he'll let you know when he wants to be pet by pawing at you. Since he's been with me he hasn't shown any resource guarding. He just wants to be loved and will cuddle in your lap on his own terms. He sleeps through the night and enjoys his daytime naps. He loves being outside in the yard and gets so excited to go for walks, even though he doesn't want to put his harness on. He plays well with other small dogs but will bark at bigger ones. For the most part he doesn't mind cats, just barks at them. He's not a fan of car rides, so he'll whine and sometimes let out a howl. Overall, he's an easy dog, and will make a great companion for the right person that has experience with small dogs that have a bit of an attitude/ Bailey would do best in an adult-only home with someone who is willing to go at his pace and continue helping him build confidence and trust. He isn’t the kind of dog who will fit into just any household but for the right person, Bailey has the potential to be an incredibly devoted companion. We know Bailey’s perfect match is out there.  If you are interested in adopting me, please fill out an application on our website  www.fohari.org  and email my foster parent for more information:  Karenslavin24@gmail.com Please verify the location and readiness of this dog with us.  Because we save lives from various locations through out the United States, some dogs may not be in New England yet, nor ready for immediate adoption.   Our adoption application can be found here: https://fohari.org/application/  Our Adoption Process:   Go to our website and select the animal you are interested in. ALL animals are in foster homes as we do NOT have a  shelter where you can visit. Some animals are in foster care in New England, and some are located in other states. If the initials following the animals name are a state, then that is the state where the animal is located. If initials are not a state, then those are the initials of the foster home outside of New England and you will not be able to meet the animal ahead of time. Complete our online application You will be contacted by phone or email by the foster parent  or a member of our adoption team and will have the opportunity to find out more about the animal, and ask any questions that you have to ensure the animal is a good fit for your household. If the animal is local, you can meet the animal, but you would not be able to take the dog home until you are approved to adopt.  From our end, we will check references and schedule a home visit.  If you live in an apartment, or a condo, we will need to verify permission to own the animal from your landlord or condo board. Please let your vet’s office and references know we will be contacting them. If your  references are positive, we will schedule a home visit by a volunteer. Please try to accommodate the home visit volunteer as most  have busy schedules. Delays in the visit will result in a delay in the adoption. Once you are approved, you will receive an e-mail with your  adoption contract attached. This e-mail will have details about pick up, the balance of the adoption fee that is owed, etc. Please email your signed & witnessed contract and pay your adoption fee in full, and for any animals located out of state, you will be contacted for details about transport to New England. Once you have paid your adoption fee in full and sent back your contract, you can make arrangement to pick up your animal from the foster home or from transport depending on where the animal is located. Please bring a harness, collar, ID tag and leash when you are picking up the dog unless otherwise instructed by the foster parent. Our extensive approval process is intended to ensure the best fit between our animals and adopters. Friends of Homeless Animals (FOHA) reserves the right to deny any adoption application with or without disclosure of cause. Your adoption fee helps to cover the cost of all age appropriate vetting and transportation. FOHARI.ORG makes no explicit or implicit guarantees in reference to the health, temperament and/or the breed of the animal. The animal is adopted ‘as is’, and the adopter assumes all responsibility for treatment of any and all existing conditions or any other conditions of physical or temperament changes that may occur. FOHARI.ORG will provide the animal with the basic vaccines, heart worm test and sterilization of dogs and cats before adoption if the age and current health of the animal permits. While FOHARI.ORG makes every effort to place only healthy animals, FOHARI.ORG cannot guarantee the health of any animal, and shall not be held responsible for any medical expenses that may be incurred. Rescuer will provide information received from the veterinarian exam, observations on the temperament of the animal and a best guess of the breed. Friends of Homeless Animals Inc. PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Archie! Archie is approximately 4 years old and 11 lbs currently and he likely has some Maltese/Shih Tzu in his mix. Archie was surrendered after his person could no longer care for him. In his foster home, he is doing great with his house training, crate training and leash walking. He could join households with dog-savvy kids 10+, and other small, calm dogs. He has not been exposed to cats. He would not be a good fit for an apartment. Archie does have a chicken allergy and needs to be on prescription food and apoquel. His foster says, `Archie has been an only dog most of his life. He lived with an older person. He is an absolute joy. A Tiny Gentleman with a silly side. Perfect blend of snuggles and spunk. With his sweet and soulful eyes he can make every moment feel a little brighter. Archie is part fluff, a little Silly, and 100% irresistible. Life is always better with a little fluff and a lot of love.`He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth in May. Story
Meet Khalessi!Khalessi is a sweet girl looking for a patient and understanding home that will give her the time she needs to feel safe and comfortable. She can be shy in new situations and will take time to warm up to a new family, so her future adopters should be prepared for a slow adjustment period. Khalessi would do best in a semi-quiet home without young children, as she prefers a calmer environment where her boundaries will be respected. She thrives with people who understand that trust takes time and who are willing to let her settle in at her own pace without pressure. She has previously lived with another dog and did well, and she may even benefit from having a confident canine companion in the home to help show her the ropes and build her confidence. With patience, routine, and understanding, Khalessi has the potential to blossom into a loyal and loving companion for the right family.

Story
Meet Playful Patrick—a tiny 10-pound black and white Maltese mix who looks like a bouncing little lamb when he’s racing through the yard and steals hearts everywhere he goes.   At just one year old, Patrick is the perfect blend of playful joy and gentle affection. He loves a good burst of backyard fun, but his favorite place in the world is right next to you—curled up on your lap with his little head resting sweetly on your shoulder, completely content just being close.   Patrick is one of those rare little dogs who seems to understand companionship deeply. He is excellent on a leash, rides calmly in the car, and has wonderful house manners in his foster home. He is also neutered, heartworm tested, fully vaccinated, and microchipped—healthy, happy, and ready for his forever family.   Social and easygoing, Patrick enjoys the company of cats and gets along well with most dogs. He and a Chihuahua in his foster home weren’t the closest of friends initially, but both came into rescue unneutered, and since that has been addressed, dynamics have improved and he continues to thrive in a structured environment.   Patrick is wonderful with children, though due to his small size, a home with older, gentle kids is preferred just to keep him safe and comfortable. He is playful—not hyper—and brings a cheerful, steady joy wherever he goes.   Everyone who meets him is instantly taken with his sweet, gentle personality and his undeniable charm. Patrick isn’t just cute—he’s the kind of little dog who quietly becomes your shadow, your comfort, and your constant companion.   If you feel this special boy might be the missing piece in your home, please reach out to Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com.   PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comMay 10, 2026, 12:26 pm

Story
Meet Sundae!Sundae is basically a plant disguised as a 17.5lb poodle mix. She is happiest outside in the sunshine, photosynthesizing and increasing that serotonin production. Sundae is about 6.5 years old and she's a pretty mid-energy kinda gal. She can get the zoomies just like any dog but, for the most part, you're not going to find her running laps or bouncing off the walls. She even has the tendency to lag behind you on a walk - she does NOT want to walk ahead of you or even keep pace with you. She would much rather dawdle and dillydally. She's a little bit on the shy side at first but once she gives you a thorough investigation (which needs to happen on HER terms and HER terms only), she wants to be involved in everything you're doing. She's nosy and has a major case of FOMO. She does well with other dogs and previously lived with multiple dogs of various sizes. She has a healthy fear of cats so dog-friendly cats shouldn't be a problem. We would prefer older kids (12+) because we don't know if she's ever been around small kids and she has a tendency to be a nervous nelly at first before she decides she's actually a social butterfly. She WILL require regular grooming and daily brushing/coat maintenance in between grooms. To apply, visit foreverpaws.com and click adopt to download our application. Once complete, you can email it to us at fpas1@foreverpaws.com.
