Story
Button is the definition of tiny but mighty. At just around 1 lb, this little Maltese/Pekingese mix is impossibly small, ridiculously cute, and full of happy puppy energy. He’s playful, affectionate, friendly, and always excited to be part of whatever is happening around him. Button was rescued from an unsafe situation where his mom and 5 siblings were tragically run over by cars after being allowed to roam loose near the road. Sadly, only 3 puppies survived from the litter. Despite that heartbreaking start, Button is a joyful little puppy who absolutely loves people and life. He has a very slight underbite that somehow only makes him even cuter. Because of his tiny size and young age, Button will not be neutered prior to adoption. Adopters will be required to provide proof of neuter in 2027 once he is fully grown and medically ready. Good fit: someone looking for a tiny companion puppy who wants affection, attention, playtime, and a safe indoor life. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Age-appropriate vetting, vaccinated, microchipped Adoption fee: $550 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit? Story
Crimson is being fostered in VA. Crimson is blind and has kidney disease. Crimson Update – April 1, 2026: Crimson has settled into his foster home, making friends with his foster parents and the four other blind dogs who live in the home. He now knows all about evening sofatime with his foster mom and the other pups, and, after a belly and head rub, takes a nap. He is doing a great job learning to go up and down the two steps from the deck into the yard and then back into the house again. And, with the warmer weather, he likes to take a quick roll in the grass when he goes out to do his business. Crimson does have dry eye now, so is on daily Optimmune (eye ointment). He does a very good job at medication time. For more information about this sweet boy, read what his foster home wrote about him in February 2026. See below. Crimson is a friendly little guy who loves belly rubs! If you would like to know more about this special pup, read on! Crimson is from Florida. His family could no longer care for him and so they turned him over to the Blind Dog Rescue Alliance. He traveled to his Virginia BDRA foster home in January 2026 and made friends all along the way. Crimson has settled into his foster home quite well! There are four other blind dogs in the home and Crimson gets along just fine with each of them. He is happy to share a bed and doesn’t mind if a dog bumps into him. He ignores the family cat. At night, he settles easily into his bed and sleeps through the night. He is housetrained – not a single accident yet! He has a deep bark and, when he first arrived, he barked fairly often but now that he is learning the routine, he barks only occasionally (usually when anticipating a meal!). As mentioned, he loves belly rubs and he enjoys head rubs too. He also likes toys. Crimson is blind, diagnosed with SARDS several years ago. SARDS (Sudden Acquired Retinal Degeneration Syndrome) is a condition that causes rapid and irreversible blindness due to changes within the retina. In addition, he arrived at his foster home with ear infections that are in the process of being treated. He hears well though and he doesn’t let his blindness bother him at all. His eyes are currently healthy although he does have some clear discharge at times. Crimson also has been diagnosed with kidney disease/kidney failure along with high blood pressure. He is on a prescription kidney diet (Purina) and also on Benazepril twice a day. We don’t know all the details about Crimson’s medical history before he arrived at his foster home and – as is true with any rescue dog – we can’t predict what the future holds for his health. Anyone interested in adopting Crimson should first speak with their vet about canine kidney disease so there is an understanding of this disease, its progression, and how it is treated. Crimson has not spent time with children and, although he is such a nice dog, he should be adopted into a home with older children or adults only. And he should always be supervised when he is with young children, as all dogs should be. If you think you can provide this sweet, gentle dog the wonderful forever home he deserves, complete an application today! BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.

Story
These three tiny puppies have already survived more tragedy in a few months than most dogs experience in a lifetime. They appear to be Pekingese/Maltese type mixes and are only around 4 months old, weighing approximately 1-2 lbs each right now. They originally lived with a woman who allowed the mom dog and puppies to roam freely in the streets. Before I was contacted, their mother and five siblings were tragically hit and killed by cars. By the time I found out about them, only these three babies were left. Despite the heartbreaking situation they came from, these puppies are incredibly friendly, sweet, happy, and trusting. They absolutely adore people and have the playful, affectionate personalities you would expect from puppies who still believe the world is a good place. They are tiny enough right now that they will not be altered prior to adoption. Adopters will be required to provide proof of spay/neuter once the puppies are fully grown, so approximately a year from now. These little ones are absolute darling babies and will do best with adopters who understand just how fragile very small puppies can be. Good fit: someone looking for a tiny companion puppy and prepared for the care, supervision, and commitment that comes with raising an extra small breed mix. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and on current preventatives. Due to size, these puppies are too small to be spayed/neutered yet. Adopters must provide proof of spay/neuter once fully grown. Adoption fee: $550 (includes transport + vetting) Bonus: Each adoption includes a 30-minute phone consultation with a professional trainer Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit?
