Story
Meet Sushi (aka Sushi Boy) 🍣🐾 Sushi is a 5-year-old Maltipoo weighing 7 pounds, with a big heart and an even bigger love for kisses and belly rubs. He’s a sweet, quiet little companion who adores one-on-one attention and bonding time with his person. While he’s good with kids, he truly thrives when he can soak up individual love and affection. Sushi enjoys short walks, lots of naps, and playing with his toys, especially chewing on them. He’s been spoiled since birth and is used to a comfortable, loving environment. He’s very low-maintenance, calm, and well-suited for a relaxed household. He is fully potty trained and crate trained for both bedtime and when left home. High-value treats are especially helpful for continued training. Sushi doesn’t mind other dogs but prefers to do his own thing and may be shy at first. He enjoys his personal space like when sleeping and can be territorial if food is taken away, so a calm, respectful home that understands boundaries would be good.

Story
🏠 Currently in a Toronto foster home Hi, my name is Remy🤍 I’m a male Maltipoo, weighing about 7kg (15 lbs), and I’m just 1 year and 6 months old — still very young. I was rescued from an animal hoarding situation. More than 80 dogs were crowded into a tiny space where it was hard to breathe. There was no one to protect me, so I had to protect myself. Every day was filled with anxiety. Every moment felt like competition. In that environment, I had to become strong simply to survive. Thankfully, I was rescued and brought to a shelter. After my health check, everyone was surprised — my body is miraculously healthy. But some of those difficult days still live quietly in my heart. Despite my past, I have a beautiful personality. I love people, I’m very affectionate, and I deeply crave human touch. In new or unfamiliar environments, I may be a little cautious at first. I’ve never lived alone before, so I may show signs of separation anxiety, and situations where I feel confined can cause intense fear. Because I spent so long having to defend myself, I may show defensive behavior toward smaller dogs, especially if I feel pushed aside. However, I do not show this behavior with dogs larger than me. For this reason, I would do best in a home: ✔️ with a larger dog than me, or ✔️ as the only dog, where I can receive focused love and reassurance. Everything about home life is new to me — living indoors, going on walks, and sharing daily life with people. I’m learning all of this for the very first time. I’m only a year and a half old. Still so young. I’m looking for a family who will teach me with love, wait patiently when I make mistakes, and gently say, “It’s okay.” I’m no longer a dog who needs to survive alone. Now, I deserve a life where I’m loved — not just enduring. Please take my paw and help me begin a life of love. I’m waiting for my forever family 🤍

Story
**Note: Currently, Danbi is in Korea, but will arrive in Vancouver on Feb 12 upon adoption. For more info about the dog or the adoption application, please follow the link below. https://www.freekoreandogs.org/dog/danbi-2/ ----------------------------------- Background Danbi was rescued from a city pound in Buan, Korea, in the summer of 2025. After her rescue, she stayed in a foster home while she completed her heartworm treatment. She handled her treatments well and is now healthy. Danbi recently moved to our partner boarding house as she prepares for her forever home. She lives peacefully alongside other dogs waiting for forever family. She is a Maltipoo. Personality and Socialization Danbi is a gentle, sweet, and friendly girl. She loves people and enjoys being close to them. She is affectionate and happy to receive attention, and she warms up easily to new faces. Danbi has a calm and soft nature that makes her a comforting presence to be around. With other dogs, Danbi is sociable and polite. She especially enjoys the company of gentle, friendly dogs and prefers calm play over rough or hyper energy. She has never been in a fight and naturally avoids conflict, choosing peace whenever she can. Danbi has not lived with cats or young children, but with slow and thoughtful introductions, she would likely do fine in a calm and patient home. Behaviour Danbi is a lovely and easygoing girl. She is comfortable in the car and behaves well during baths and vet visits. She has shown no signs of separation anxiety and is not destructive. When she lived in a foster home, she stayed with another dog and remained relaxed. She walks well on a leash and also uses pee pads indoors. Danbi is smart and learns quickly. She can feel nervous if she is suddenly picked up, and unfamiliar places may make her a bit unsure at first. With gentle handling, reassurance, and time, she settles in and gains confidence. Health and Diet When Danbi was rescued, she tested positive for heartworm. She has since completed her full treatment and is now healthy and ready to start her new life. Danbi is spayed, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. She receives monthly parasite prevention, has no known allergies, and eats dry kibble well. Ideal Home Danbi would do best in a calm and loving home. She would be a wonderful companion for someone who works from home, a senior, or a quiet household. She does not ask for much, just a peaceful space, gentle care, and someone to love. Having another friendly dog in the home would be a lovely bonus for her. Danbi is a soft soul who is ready to bloom in the right home. She is waiting patiently for the family who will give her the love and security she deserves. ------------------------- **Note: Currently, Danbi is in Korea, but will arrive in Vancouver on Feb 12 upon adoption. Story
Hello!! My name is Cooper  Here is some information about me: Breed: Maltipoo Age: 4 years old Gender: Male Weight: 14.5 lbs Height: tbd Highlights: Sweet, playful  & affectionate Hi… I’m Cooper. And I’m ready to tell you how I ended up looking for my forever family. Not too long ago, I was abandoned at a park in California. I don’t really know why, but suddenly I was all on my own. The police found me and took me somewhere safe—so yes, I spent a few days “behind bars.” Don’t worry though, the officers were kind, and I was cared for while I waited for my next chapter to begin. That chapter came when some wonderful humans stepped in and made sure I didn’t get forgotten. Now I’m safe, loved, and getting ready for a big adventure… I’m heading to Vancouver and arriving on February 11th! I can’t wait to see snowflakes, cozy couches, and—hopefully—you. I’m a 4-year-old Maltipoo (that’s the best guess!) with a sweet, gentle heart. I’m friendly, easygoing, and currently sharing my foster home in California with a large female doodle. We get along just fine, and I even enjoy playing with toys when I’m feeling comfortable. As I settle in and decompress, my foster family is learning more about my personality—but so far, I’m proving to be a lovely little guy. I’m small, non-shedding, and hoping to find a family who’s ready to spoil me rotten (I promise I’ll return the favor with loyalty and love). If you’re looking for a charming, soft-hearted companion to join your life, I might just be the perfect match. Love,Cooper Energy Level:  tbd I get along with: Dogs: Yes Cats: Unknown Kids: Unknown Fears/Prey Drive:  tbd Training:  tbd Leash Skills: tbd. House trained: tbd. Please assist training me where to go in my new home. Health Notes: I am healthy, neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. My adoption fee is $850 CAD plus taxes.  This includes my transport to Canada. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if the dog is shown to be good with children we will approve homes with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.  While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. You will NOT be charged the passenger fee in addition to this. [MID EAST DOGS] *Vaccinations: Dogs from the Middle East are vaccinated for rabies, parvo, distemper, leptospirosis, adenovirus type 1 and para-influenza. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East. ##2654007##
