I may be rehoming Kaia if I find the right fit.Kaia came to me as a puppy mill pup, taken from her mom too soon and in poor condition. She is one of the cutest dogs I've ever seen, with a spunky, energetic personality who is also cuddly and chill once calm. She loves napping, swimming, playing fetch, and hiking. She is a very active, healthy 10 lb fluff ball.She's also sensitive. She can be afraid of some people and timid around some dogs, since she was attacked by two dogs when younger, so she needs time to warm up to new dogs. She sometimes doesn't like being picked up. Grooming and car rides give her anxiety, and she barks when she hears people at the door. Overall, she is an incredible dog who adds so much joy.I've worked from home with her for 5 years and am now relocating to Santa Barbara for school. Finding a room for rent that allows her, even as an ESA, has been beyond challenging. She deserves a patient, loving home.

Hello! My name is Darrow, and I'm available for adoption at Santa Barbara Humane's Santa Barbara Campus! Like all animals at Santa Barbara Humane, before going home I will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped​. My adoption also includes a complimentary post-adoption health exam with a participating local veterinary clinic as well as a supply of Hill's Science Diet food to help make my first few days at home a little easier. If you're ready to welcome me or another animal into your family, stop by during adoption hours—daily from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., except Wednesdays. No ​appointment or advance notice is ​r​equired! Need to pick up a few essentials before heading home? Visit the retail center at either Santa Barbara Humane campus, where you'll find toys, treats, collars, leashes, and more at competitive prices. Every purchase helps support the animals in our care and the programs that serve pets and people throughout our community. ​We hope to see you soon!
