Irie Provac is currently in RI and looking for a 'furever' home! Irie has been through a lot and deserves a permanent home of her own. Irie was brought to a local shelter with her fur completely matted, she was in rough shape. She was very untrusting and still can be with strangers. She bonds to one person and one person only! She was a complete bite risk in the beginning and now just a bite risk to strangers. She loves to cuddle, go for walks and lay on the couch near her person. Irie needs to go to a home with a single female with no other animals. We know that is a tough ask, but this girl is so young and loves life so much, she just needs someone to give her a chance! Little Snowball arrived to the shelter as a stray, extremely underweight, so very hungry and with coat that was terribly matted as can be seen in his last photo. Please read his entire bio before reaching out to the shelter. Snowball was so underweight that shelter staff had to carefully feed him through his first couple weeks to make sure that he was able to safely process food after almost starvation. But this tiny 10 lb. boy has proved to have quite a determined, sassy attitude! Snowball wants to get to know people at his own pace. He is looking for an adult only home with no kids, dogs or cats. If children are going to be visitors, his new adopters should be prepared to have a spot for him to be safely kept away. This guy has lost some trust in people, but is trying awfully hard to make connections. Snowball is clear about his need for space, and will give a warning growl to people who push him too fast. Once he is comfortable, he will crawl up and cuddle.Snowball would like a quiet home, with adult adopters only who are willing to go very slow on getting to know him. If you need a dog to pick up and snuggle right away, he is not the pup for you. Snowball has been through a tough time and may do best with local adopters who are able to come to the shelter multiple times in order to gain his confidence. Although his coat was trimmed down, he will require regular professional grooming to keep him comfortable, and his new adopters' should be prepared for that cost. Meet Oliver! Oliver is COMING SOON! Foster Needed! Oliver should be ready early to mid-June. You can put in your applications now to get pre-approved and find out more about him from his foster. Olive has long long legs and teensy tiny footsie! He has the body of a mini poodle and the coat of a Shih Tzu. He loves to snuggle and be in your lap and sleep in your bed. Oliver wants his human all to himself though, so if you want him to sleep in your bed, you will have to be perpetually single! Orrrr, work with a positive trainer to work on his resource guarding. Speaking of resource guarding, leave him be when he is eating. Simple. No other dogs in the home to help Oliver feel safest. Oliver has fractured his teeth on his crate and becomes quite the cranky grumble but behind baby gates when other dogs are around. No crates for this guy but no worries about potty in the house as he is fully trained! Olive is scheduled for dental work which is why is not yet available. Oliver loves to sniff things outside and would love daily walks of any length to be able to stop and smell the roses all along his route. A harness is best as he hasn't received many walks and will need to keep working on not pulling. When he is out and about in the yard Oliver comes when called lickety splits! A silly thing about Oliver? Well, he sounds like he might eat you up for his next meal when he plays with you! He's just playing though. As his new parent, you should take the time to allow Oliver to decompress by himself for a few days as mentioned in the 3/3/3 rule of adoptions. And, you will eventually understand what all the grumps and grumbles of his sound like and which ones mean what. Oliver's ideal home would be a single adult or a couple who will use positive training to remove the guarding of his chosen person or to sleep in a dog bed entirely.
