Please read listings fully to the end before applying for one of our beloved rescues.
WE ARE NOT A SHELTER; WE ARE AN ALL-VOLUNTEER RESCUE WITH FULL-TIME JOBS.
Please do not contact us to look at a dog. We will contact you once we have reviewed your completed application if we think your home might be a good fit. A reference check, phone interview, and home visit will be completed before meeting an adoptable dog.
We work quickly. Please do not submit an application until you are ready to bring a new furry family member home. Expect your references to be contacted shortly after submitting your application. We adopt out to homes around the US and Canada, but require that you are present for the meet and greet in Newcastle, WA.
Our adoption fee is non-negotiable. The adoption fee is due on the day of adoption in the form of a check, Zelle, or cash. We no longer use PayPal due to its fees & charges but if the potential adopter is willing to pay them, we will accept it.
TuTu ended up in the hell hole of Yaan shelter & it was our understanding she was used over & over again as a breeding machine. It’s absolutely soul destroying to think about the horrific situation she ended up in. TuTu ended up in a death camp of a shelter in China called Yaan, the dogs sit in filth day & night, some end up with skin conditions so severe you don’t know what breed of dog they are. They are not fed properly & living in pure hell & the smell of urine on them & the staining of their fur is unbearable & they are so emaciated it’s hard to believe they are still alive. Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued TuTu & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting TuTu out, her fate was death. She transferred TuTu to her own rescue & covid had hit & the waiting began. Along with TuTu & many other sweet souls they got well & healthy & waited to come to the US. This became a very extremely expensive situation with covid. We were finally able to bring everyone back through cargo which is an astronomical expense per dog, but we believe every sweet soul such as TuTu & her & friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. Now TuTu is looking for a special family to cherish her & be patient with her.
TuTu was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough.
TuTu was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home.
UPDATE: TuTu was adopted & found a loving mum over 2 years ago & was very loved & went for daily walks, had dog friends & adventures. Unfortunately her mum now has to leave the country as she lost her job & her visa was not renewed so beautiful & so loving TuTu is now looking for a home to love her due to no fault of her own, we are devastated for her.
We had to groom TuTu down as she was extremely matted when returned to the rescue.
Considering the state she was in, in China to the lady she is today it’s unbelievable to think she survived the hell of Yaan & is now a healthy very beautiful soul of a girl.
It was very quickly discovered that poor TuTu had been debarked. This is extremely brutal how they debark the dogs in China so when she try’s to bark, sometimes there is nothing or sometimes it sounds as though a bird is chirping. We know from our vets that they were brutal with her when they debarked her & her inside of her throat tells that story.
Her foster mum & dad said she can be a little shy at first with strangers & has a very calm personality & she just wants to be loved but she knows what she wants & she is very confident in herself once she is good with her people. She has come a tremendous way, the transformation in her is extraordinary. She was a shell of a girl, did not know that she could eat the food she was given, she would sleep sitting up for a very long time & would even sleep with her eyes part of the way open.
She adores both her foster mum & her foster dad. She waits each day for her foster dad to feed her especially. They have a routine now each day with TuTu coming into the kitchen & TuTu standing on her back legs & dancing for a long time with enthusiasm for her food.
She has enjoyed eating since she has been here in the US, but let’s face it, being fed the way we are feeding her is all new to her & just being fed all the time is new to her. She has put on several pounds. It has been roughly a year with the rehabilitation of TuTu from a girl who did not know she could eat to the girl who now enjoys sitting on the chair looking out the window in a lovely outfit with her foster siblings.
TuTu has very rarely walked on a harness & leash as in her foster home she has a fully fenced backyard she goes out for wanders. She does not like being outside for any great length of time because of her horrid past & enjoys being inside. TuTu adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing her, cleaning her eyes, grooming her she loves it all once she knows you are her person. TuTu’s foster mum said she is now so good with being bathed & does really well being dryer with the hairdryer. She also will lay in her foster mums lap & get her nails dremeled. We have had her with many breeds of dogs & she has done well with different size dogs. She is not a dog who will play with another dog but finds comfort in other dogs. TuTu has no interest in toys but loves fluffy beds & piles of blankets & will even sleep with her family in the bed with them once she is comfortable with them.
This little adorable lady is so very sweet, soft & gentle her foster mum said. She deserves to be loved & cherished as she has seen it all. She just wants you to love her & be kind to her. She is good with other dogs & we have her with other dogs & think she will do best with another dog in the home just for comfort or to lay with.
TuTu has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car but we always have her with other dogs when in the car. She is uncertain at first about getting out of the car until she knows her people then she will get out & where she is going to. With TuTu we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lady only. We are also looking for a forever home for TuTu where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them.
TuTu is looking for a forever home who will cherish her & love him as she should be loved & be very patient with her & understanding.
TuTu has been around many breeds of dogs all shapes & sizes & she is currently with other dogs in her loving foster home & enjoys their company so we are looking for a home where she can be with another dog or other dogs in the home. We currently have her with other dogs. A fully fenced backyard is mandatory for TuTu’s new forever home.
TuTu is now roughly 14 lbs & has put on quite a a substantial amount of weight since coming to the US with us in her foster home. She is 7 years old & perhaps a miniture poodle, she is unfortunately debarked, she is spayed & female, she had a dental scale/polish along with dental x-rays. She had 9 teeth removed, 7 premolars & 2 minor molars, she is microchipped, up to date on her shots, had her shots including DHLPP, Bordatella, CIV, rabies, treated with credelio, dewormed.
We have spent far more on TuTu with bringing her to the US with her travel airfare costs alone bringing her through cargo was over $2000, without anything else then on top of that paying for her medical care & boarding fees, including a dental/ scale & polish, spay, shots, microchip, etc & then bringing her to WA with her transport fees than her adoption fee comes close to covering.
TuTu has not been around cats since being in the rescue & her foster home, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats.
Please do not apply saying your neighbors have a dog or family members or you will take him to places where there are other dogs. That will not work, another dog or dogs is mandatory.
We were not there when TuTu was conceived so we do not know who her parents were & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is.
As with all of our rescues & TuTu’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. Please do not submit an application if you are not willing to commit to one of our rescues care for their whole life & that includes if they need training. Please do not email us asking is TuTu potty trained or available, nor do we ship dogs anywhere as we will not respond.
We would never say anyone of our rescues are potty trained. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying.
Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting TuTu & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Webex due to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for TuTu who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely sweet girl.
Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately.
TuTu has an adoption fee of $850 & is ready for her truly loving forever home & compassion & understanding of what she has been through.
