Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Veronica's perfect match will be someone that is naturally calm and patient. Someone that understands the world can be an overwhelming place and some dogs, like Veronica, just need an extra minute to take it all in.  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Veronica came to us from a shelter where she was out of time. Originally she was from a home that left her outside only. She had to learn how to trust people, accept love, be nice to other dogs, and generally relax. We are very proud of how far she has come and we are excited to offer her for adoption to the right home.  This beautiful girl is, potty trained, crate trained, walks on leash, has great recall, and takes treats very nicely. She loves to sit to be petted, too.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 24, 2024, 12:11 am

Story
Hi I'm Bear I can be shy and a bit nervous when I first meet people because of my past but after you give me a little time and space to come greet you I get comfortable and I can be very talkative and cuddly. I've never been around children or cats and I'm weary of other dogs depending on size because I was attacked as a puppy. I love sleeping under the blanket if allowed. My current human unfortunately is in the military and getting deployed and she can't take me . She says I'm a sweet little soul and I deserve a loving home. I might not be the perfect confident pup but give me the opportunity to show you that I can be more confident with your love and structure. If you want to meet me please reach out to Celeste phone # 832-602-6900 celestee101@yahoo.comMay 8, 2025, 6:09 pm

ATTENTION:  All of our dogs are in private foster homes.  We do NOT have a kennel with multiple dogs.  If you find a dog you want to meet in person, please go to www.secondchancedogrescue.org and complete an application.    We will make every attempt to process all applications within 3 business days of receipt. // // Meet Frieda!  Frieda is a 1-year-old, 25-lb bundle of love, fluff, and joyful puppy energy. Believed to be a Miniature Pinscher/Terrier mix.  Frieda has the softest fur, velvety ears, and the kind of sweet eyes that melt you on contact. She’s a total sweetheart who adores cuddling just as much as she loves playtime. After a good burst of zoomies, she’s happiest curled up beside you or resting her head in your lap for a cozy nap. This girl is social and friendly, she does well with other dogs, kids, and even cats. She may chase the kitties in a playful “please be my friend!” kind of way, but her barking has already decreased as she’s settled in and learned the routine. Frieda is still very much a young pup, which means she’s full of enthusiasm and learning every day. She’s working on keeping all four paws on the floor when she gets excited and is making progress with gentle guidance. Because she can get a little jumpy and mouthy during play, she’d do best with kids who understand puppy manners and can help her continue learning. She’s potty trained, uses a dog door like a pro, and already knows commands like sit and come. She loves being outside, is learning to fetch, and absolutely lives for squeaky toys and puzzle toys — especially if treats are involved. Sniffing out hidden goodies is one of her special talents! On walks, Frieda is eager to explore and meet everyone she sees. She does pull on leash right now, but she’s a smart girl and would thrive with continued training. Like many young dogs, Frieda is also a champion chewer. She’ll need plenty of sturdy toys and supervision to help her make good choices (and keep shoes and sprinklers safe!). With structure, exercise, and consistency, she’ll continue blossoming into an amazing companion. Frieda would love an active home with a yard, lots of playtime, and a family excited to help her grow. In return, she’ll give you endless affection, entertainment, and the very best snuggles. If you’re looking for a playful best friend with a cuddly side, Frieda might just be your girl! She is microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs,   vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to  www.secondchancedogrescue.org  and complete an application today!    All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.  February 13, 2026, 1:57 pm

Nuppie is an approximately 14 year old, 15 pound miniature pinscher mix.  This hilarious little senior gentleman is searching for an active walking buddy and a loving best friend. Don’t let his age fool you, Nuppie is happy to clock 2–3 miles a day and would love a human who enjoys getting out and about. When he’s not strutting his stuff, Nuppie is all about the good life: long naps tucked under his blanket, mealtime (a favorite!), and hanging out with his people. He’s great with other dogs and people, fully potty trained, and has a nice balance of independence and good manners—he listens when it counts. Nuppie is a small pup with a big personality who is guaranteed to keep you smiling. Could he be your perfect walking and snuggling companion? He is microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines.
