Story
Hi I'm Bear I can be shy and a bit nervous when I first meet people because of my past but after you give me a little time and space to come greet you I get comfortable and I can be very talkative and cuddly. I've never been around children or cats and I'm weary of other dogs depending on size because I was attacked as a puppy. I love sleeping under the blanket if allowed. My current human unfortunately is in the military and getting deployed and she can't take me . She says I'm a sweet little soul and I deserve a loving home. I might not be the perfect confident pup but give me the opportunity to show you that I can be more confident with your love and structure. If you want to meet me please reach out to Celeste phone # 832-602-6900 celestee101@yahoo.comMay 8, 2025, 6:09 pm

Story
Meet Oliver, our 2-year-old heart-stealer. He’s the definition of smooth — calm eyes, soft soul, and that quiet confidence that says, “I’ve got this.” Oliver isn’t in a rush for anything. He’s the kind of dog who observes first, then decides whether to nap, cuddle, or charm you with his mellow grin. He’s independent, gentle, and the ultimate adventure companion — big enough to join you anywhere, small enough to fit right into your arms. We rescued his mom and litter during a heavy storm, all soaked and shivering — and from that moment, Oliver has been our reminder that peace can come after chaos. He’s crate and potty trained, loves every dog he meets, and carries this quiet, lovable energy that makes you instantly melt. But don’t let his calm fool you — Oliver also loves to play, explore, and have fun wherever he goes. He’s the perfect mix of chill and cheerful, and a true romantic at heart — sensitive, loyal, and endlessly cuddly. Oliver is ready to live his Dulce Vida — the sweet life he’s always deserved. PS. Yes, I was eating peanut butter when they took my pictures — they should’ve cleaned my lips first, right? - Oliver. Story
Deva is around 1 yrs old and 26 lbs. Deva is a delicate soul with a heart full of love, just waiting for the right family to help her feel safe and secure. She is very shy and skittish, especially around new environments or loud, unpredictable sounds. But beneath that hesitation is a deeply affectionate pup who simply wants to be loved. Deva thrives in the company of other dogs and blossoms when she’s around calm, friendly canine companions. Because she’s a little nervous around toddlers, a quiet home with adults and other dogs would be her ideal match. A home with a large backyard is recommended as she is afraid of walking on leash. While she may take time to warm up, Deva deserves a chance to be part of a patient, understanding family who will see the gentle beauty behind her timid exterior. With love and time, she’ll reward you with loyalty, affection, and the quiet joy of watching her confidence grow.

Story
Sadly, Mateo was left to die on the side of the road, in the dirt, and under the scorching sun after he was struck by a vehicle. He was taken to a vet in Mexico where they amputated his leg. The procedure was botched and Mateo was left with bone fragments in his leg, blood clots, and in extreme pain. Mateo had to undergo a second😨 and a third😱 amputation once he was brought to the states. Mateo has been in physical therapy and has been slowly making progress. His wound is slowly healing, however, the bigger issue is that he still isn’t able to put weight on the other leg, causing him to be immobile and incontinent. We are hopeful that with time, he will gain strength in this back leg so that he can start bearing weight on it so he can learn to walk as a tri pod. In the interim, Mateo loves using his doggie wheelchair. This boy has been through so much, but that hasnt slowed him down one bit heart ❤️‍🩹 He still runs around and plays just like other dogs, and he absolutely loves having all of his mobility back now that he has mastered using his chair. ‼️Mateo is available for adoption and would love to find his forever family, but his fabulous foster family is going on a lengthy trip in May and we desperately need to find this boy a temporary foster by then, or his forever home. We realize he is going to be some work so we need to find a kindred spirit, someone with an unconditional loving heart who will help this boy through his healing process‼️

Story
Kobe is a 5 y/o Min Pin, he is reactive and anxious (fearful) but very intelligent, loving and stubborn. Unfortunately does have human bite history. House and leash trained but has very high energy and loves to pull here and there. He is vocal (will tell you and show you h hungry/thirsty), very food and toy motivated, knows many commands sit/stay, take/leave it, lay down/off, go pee/poop, hug, etc. Overall he’s very sweet, cuddle bug, great companion, loves runs, swimming, hiking and with the right person he’ll walk off-leash after a bit of training with him, re-call needs more work. Good with pets (introduce first in calm environment). His reactivity started progressing from 3 y/o after an abuse incident with a family member, we’ve been working with him as much as we can but after his neuter we noticed he started getting aggressive. He needs professional training (costly), a lot of patience, maybe a dog who is great with others and lots of time with exercise and mental stimulation.

Nuppie is an approximately 14 year old, 15 pound miniature pinscher mix.  This hilarious little senior gentleman is searching for an active walking buddy and a loving best friend. Don’t let his age fool you, Nuppie is happy to clock 2–3 miles a day and would love a human who enjoys getting out and about. When he’s not strutting his stuff, Nuppie is all about the good life: long naps tucked under his blanket, mealtime (a favorite!), and hanging out with his people. He’s great with other dogs and people, fully potty trained, and has a nice balance of independence and good manners—he listens when it counts. Nuppie is a small pup with a big personality who is guaranteed to keep you smiling. Could he be your perfect walking and snuggling companion? He is microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines. Her adoption fee is $200. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption.   Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Believed to be a Miniature Pinscher/Terrier mix.  Frieda has the softest fur, velvety ears, and the kind of sweet eyes that melt you on contact. She’s a total sweetheart who adores cuddling just as much as she loves playtime. After a good burst of zoomies, she’s happiest curled up beside you or resting her head in your lap for a cozy nap. This girl is social and friendly, she does well with other dogs, kids, and even cats. She may chase the kitties in a playful “please be my friend!” kind of way, but her barking has already decreased as she’s settled in and learned the routine. Frieda is still very much a young pup, which means she’s full of enthusiasm and learning every day. She’s working on keeping all four paws on the floor when she gets excited and is making progress with gentle guidance. Because she can get a little jumpy and mouthy during play, she’d do best with kids who understand puppy manners and can help her continue learning. She’s potty trained, uses a dog door like a pro, and already knows commands like sit and come. She loves being outside, is learning to fetch, and absolutely lives for squeaky toys and puzzle toys — especially if treats are involved. Sniffing out hidden goodies is one of her special talents! On walks, Frieda is eager to explore and meet everyone she sees. She does pull on leash right now, but she’s a smart girl and would thrive with continued training. Like many young dogs, Frieda is also a champion chewer. She’ll need plenty of sturdy toys and supervision to help her make good choices (and keep shoes and sprinklers safe!). With structure, exercise, and consistency, she’ll continue blossoming into an amazing companion. Frieda would love an active home with a yard, lots of playtime, and a family excited to help her grow. In return, she’ll give you endless affection, entertainment, and the very best snuggles. If you’re looking for a playful best friend with a cuddly side, Frieda might just be your girl! She is microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines. Her adoption fee is $300.
