Annabeth is a very energetic young puppy who was found abandoned in a ditch by a highway. Despite her difficult beginnings, she is a truly happy and resilient girl who is well-integrated into her busy foster home. She is a social butterfly who loves adults, children and other dogs, and she charms everyone she meets. She has been quite fixated on the resident cat and is inclined to bark and chase, so she may not be the best fit for a home with cats or other small animals. She is very intelligent and has already learned how to open the doggy door. She loves to play bitey-mouth with her canine friends, and barks joyfully the whole time. She adores toys of all kinds. Her energy level can make her hyper sometimes, but she is able to settle down and enjoy cuddling in your lap, too. She also loves napping on the nearest couch or bed. Annabeth is still a baby, and her crate, house, and leash training have only just begun. She is calm in the car, but suffers from a bit of carsickness, and is inclined to drool and vomit. She sometimes jumps on people, and she will cry for a while when she is left alone in her x-pen. We believe that Annabeth will thrive in a home with a predictable routine and structure. We recommend obedience training for all of our dogs, especially puppies, because you can both learn commands together and the puppy gains confidence and control. It's also fun! Annabeth is an extremely affectionate and entertaining puppy who will steal your heart--and never give it back! An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see HERE for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor. April 26, 2024, 5:06 pm
