Story
Meet Duke — a three-month-old orange male Manx kitten with 10 pounds of personality packed into a 3-pound package.
Duke may squeak more than he roars, but don’t be fooled: inside that tiny frame beats the heart of a lion. He is a high-energy little guy who loves to run, chase, and launch himself into the air after feather toys with complete confidence that this time he will absolutely catch one. When playtime is over, though, Duke’s true priority becomes obvious: his person. This affectionate little guy bonds deeply with his human and wants to be wherever you are — supervising, snuggling, following along, or simply making sure you haven’t gone somewhere interesting without him.
Duke gets along well with other cats, but he is very much a people kitten at heart. Because he has so much kitten energy and is so people-oriented, he’ll do best in a home with the time and enthusiasm to give him plenty of interactive play, attention, and companionship. He is litter-box trained and looking for someone who wants a tiny orange shadow, an enthusiastic playmate, and a devoted companion all rolled into one adorable bobtailed package. Duke is currently being fostered in New York, NY and his adoption fee is $225.
Kittens are only adopted in pairs or to homes with other friendly, social pets. They are very social by nature and need to be with other pets for their socialization.
Duke's adoption fee is $225; to adopt a pair of kittens, the combined adoption fee is $375.

All of our cats come spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, up to date on flea and tick preventative, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. All adults are combo tested; for some litters of kittens who have not been exposed to other cats, only one kitten in the litter may be tested. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and helps us continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the pet you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
