Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Check out my tail. Click on my photo to see it. Lucas is a beautiful Manx mix who is a lover and a cuddler.  He was found in a rural area where he was likely abandoned.  Lucas loves to have his head scratched and to chase his toys. He also loves a good tube of Churu.  He is about 1 year old, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  He is also FIV+.  Please read below about FIV+ kitties.  Despite their diagnosis they can live long, healthy lives if they live indoors and are provided regular veterinary care.   What is FIV?  Feline Immunodeficiency Virus(FIV) is a virus that attacks the immune system of cats.  There is no treatment or cure.  FIV is a cat-only disease and cannot be transmitted to people or dogs.  FIV+ cats should be kept indoors to prevent exposure to illness, sterilized and fed a balanced diet.  They should be seen by a veterinarian at least once a year to ensure their ongoing good health. Transmission:  FIV is passed from cat to cat mainly through deep bite wounds, the kind that occur during fights and territorial disputes involving feral and unsterilized males.  Casual, social behavior such as sharing a water/food bowl and mutual grooming will NOT spread FIV.  There is no evidence that cats in the household with an FIV+ cat will acquire FIV from the FIV+ cat. Lifespan:  Multiple medical studies show that cats who are FIV+ live just as long as FIV-negative cats.  FIV itself does not cause severe clinical signs, and FIV+ cats can live many years without any health problems.    For additional information contact your veterinarian.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 7, 2026, 12:37 am

Story
Hello! I am a special girl as I have no tail. Yup, go figure--and I was born this way. However, this does not make me any less adorable. I am full of love and fun. I am very fond of people, especially when I get bunches of attention. I entered this world on 9/5/25 and have been a cuddler since day one. I will snuggle real close. Because I am special, I was named after a fairy, Flittle. Is anyone a Disney fan and know the movie I was in? Anyway, while I am adorable and definitely a loving kitten, please note, there are special conditions for my care which are necessary, specifically around food. My diet is very important to keep my kitty figure. I have a good time with life. My friends and I play well together and I will pick up a toy and run. I can always take a nap. Let’s snuggle up together with a fuzzy blanket! ***PLEASE NOTE*** Are you interested in adopting this cat or another JCAPL pet you have seen? You'll need to start by completing an adoption application: https://jcapl.org/blog/jcapl-adoption-process/. Story
Big squishy torbie girl.Iris is a big squishy bobtail girl born about April 13, 2019.  She looks like she could be a mix of both Manx and American Bobtail although she has a very exotic looking face.  She has about half a normal length tail.   She was adopted from us as a kitten, and returned 4 years later due to her owner having a health crisis.  She lived with both cats and a dog, but she is either timid around other cats or tends to bully them.  She'd do best as an only cat or with a dog or two.   She is spayed, tested negative for FeLV and FIV before being adopted and has never been outside.  She is microchipped as well.  She has been treated for fleas and her vaccinations updated.  Her adoption fee is $75 More photos and video at  https://photos.app.goo.gl/ajiDTBG7CVQGwwgz9   April 28, 2025, 7:25 pm

Story
Handsome black Manx/Cymric boy.Seeley is a long haired rumpy black Manx/Cymric mix mix. Seeley's owner wound up in a nursing home, and he and his house mate Ichabod ended up in a shelter.  In the confusion of being at the shelter, his paperwork seems to say he was born in May of 2019, or he was born around February of 2017.  When we had him checked by a vet, he said that his teeth looked great, but he couldn't quote an age.  So we will go with a 2017 birthdate. Seeley is sweet and loves to be brushed.  He also loves catnip.  He has a bit of obsession with human toes and will nibble them.  Because he is long haired, he needs a home that will get him a sanitary clip when needed to keep his backside clean.  It is really easy to clip him at home if you have 2 people. He was born with a birth defect that was never addressed.   He has had surgery on it twice now to try to correct it, and he’s greatly improved.  He does need miralax twice a day to keep his stool soft.  He's perfect with the litterbox. He came from a multi cat home.  And he has done well with some of our other fosters, but not well with others.  So we'll call him cat selective. He is up to date on vaccinations, combo tested negative for FIV and FeLV, is microchipped, neutered, and has been wormed and treated for fleas. His adoption fee is $100     More photos and video at  https://photos.app.goo.gl/rgQqMp3SotTbS8Ur7   February 12, 2026, 8:28 am
