Meet Minxy! Minxy is a resilient soul who spent nearly three years as a cautious visitor on her foster's property. While she accepted food and shelter, she kept her distance until a period of illness led her fosters to step in and get her the veterinary care she needed. After overcoming several health obstacles, Minxy is now infection-free and has finally revealed her true, affectionate nature. Once a shy girl, Minxy has transformed into a total cuddle bug. She absolutely loves having her belly rubbed and will happily make "air biscuits" while being held or petted. While she may be a bit nervous with new faces and might offer a defensive hiss at first, she quickly "melts" as soon as she feels the comfort of a kind touch. The Essentials: Age: Estimated between 3 and 5 years old. Health: Minxy is FeLV positive. Because of this, she needs to be the only cat in the home or live with other FeLV+ feline friends. Personality: A sweet snuggler who just wants a family to give her all the love she deserves. Minxy has come a long way from the yard to the couch, and she’s now looking for a forever home where she can spend her days snuggling and being adored.

Please only apply for Pixie if you live in the Boulder, Colorado area. SPECIAL NEEDS: Pixie really needs to be adopted by a very experienced and alert human. She has Manx Syndrome and allergies. She must maintain a prescription diet and get medications twice a day to keep her colon active. She may occassionaly require manual manipulation of her gut to move her fecal matter.  Sweet Pixie was found by animal control and taken to a vet, as she was too little to go to the shelter. The vet called Feline Matchmakers and we took her in. She nursed on a mama cat that had a litter about her age and grew up with her adopted family in foster care. She is now a social, spunky little bundle of joy! All Feline Matchmakers cats get age appropriate vaccinations, fixed, tested and microchipped prior to adoption. Feisty and energetic, he rarely stays still for snuggles unless it's closer to bedtime. He loves to run and play, rocketing up the cat tower or skidding around corners in the kitchen. The hand towel is his current nemesis. When his energy runs out he will come lay near you and purr, giving very mouthy head rubs and gentle finger nibbles, then often disappearing to a warm sunny window. He's a sweetheart who will tear at the catnip toy instead of your curtains (but the dangly thing is asking for it). Shorty is a sweet 6-month-old Manx kitten with a gentle, quiet personality. She absolutely loves other cats and does great with cat-friendly dogs, making her a perfect companion in a multi-pet home. Shorty can be a little shy in louder environments and prefers a calm, cozy space where she can feel safe. While she’s not big on being held for long, she shows her affection in the sweetest ways—snuggling up by your feet or legs at bedtime and keeping you company. Once she bonds with you, she’ll even roll over for belly rubs, but only for her favorite person. Kittens/cats are UTD on age appropriate vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, flea treated. Combo tested negative for FIV/Felv (Unless noted) Spayed and Neutered if old enough. If still needing to be completed, the rescue will cover surgery at approved vet clinics in the area. ##2426490##

Lucas is a beautiful Manx mix who is a lover and a cuddler.  He was found in a rural area where he was likely abandoned.  Lucas loves to have his head scratched and to chase his toys. He also loves a good tube of Churu.  He is about 1 year old, neutered, vaccinated and microchipped.  He is also FIV+.  Please read below about FIV+ kitties.  Despite their diagnosis they can live long, healthy lives if they live indoors and are provided regular veterinary care.   What is FIV?  Feline Immunodeficiency Virus(FIV) is a virus that attacks the immune system of cats.  There is no treatment or cure.  FIV is a cat-only disease and cannot be transmitted to people or dogs.  FIV+ cats should be kept indoors to prevent exposure to illness, sterilized and fed a balanced diet.  They should be seen by a veterinarian at least once a year to ensure their ongoing good health. Transmission:  FIV is passed from cat to cat mainly through deep bite wounds, the kind that occur during fights and territorial disputes involving feral and unsterilized males.  Casual, social behavior such as sharing a water/food bowl and mutual grooming will NOT spread FIV.  There is no evidence that cats in the household with an FIV+ cat will acquire FIV from the FIV+ cat.
