Story
Meet sweet Suzy! This gorgeous girl is a 6-year-old Manx cat with the most luscious fur! Suzy has let us know that she would prefer a home without young children. In her previous home there was a young child, and it brought up some urinary issues with Suzy. In order to keep her happy and healthy, we would recommend no young children in her new home. Suzy has lived with a large dog whom she coexisted nicely with! She is also said to get along with other cats. Though Suzy is nervous at first, once you give her some time, she is ready to snuggle! Her previous family noted that Suzy is a loving, playful, friendly, and loves to snuggle in your lap! If Suzy sounds like the right addition for you, come meet her today! If you'd like to meet our available animals, please check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalshelter/adopt

Story
Who is not a fan of Steel Magnolias? Magnolia was named after the movie and so was her BFF Jackson. She is paired with him. She is seeking human affection but still is a tad shy. We want to make adopting easy for you! Here’s our application:   https://form.jotform.com/232837730565159  Once you complete it, we’re on it! We’ll call your vet (or personal reference) the next business day. Then we like to do a brief video chat (FaceTime if you have it) so you can show us your new pet’s home - where they’ll sleep, eat, and play. During our chat, we can also give you tips or answer questions about how to successfully integrate your new family member into your household, especially if you have other pets. Our adoption fee is $150 and covers our costs of spay/neuter, vaccinations, vet exam, and supplies. (Once old enough, all our cats are current on their shots and have been spayed/neutered.) We’re a strictly no-kill shelter just for cats. We’re cage-free, donation-based, and volunteer-powered. We’re small but special and we’re glad you found us! For more info don’t hesitate to call or text us at 540-987-6050 or email us at adopt@rappcats.org. September 11, 2024, 4:12 pm

Story
Meet 'Rumple'! This beautiful cat was found outside as a stray, covered in fleas and having had to defend herself against predators. She is a tailless Manx breed, which are known to be smart, very affectionate, to get along with children, and very loyal. Rumple's foster mom agrees with this...she is followed everywhere when Rumple is not basking in the sun or sitting on the couch or her lap. Rumple loves to just hang with her people, explore and play, take naps, watch squirrels...well, she IS a happy cat!Rumple has moderate Manx Syndrome, in which a few bones in her lower spine are missing along with her tail. It gives her a unique walking gait and adds to her charm. She has minor incontinence, which her foster says does not slow her down or cause much mess. Come meet this special girl! Thank you for your interest in Rumple! Please visit www.hart90.org/petdetail.aspx?ID=16787 to get the most up-to-date and accurate information on this pet, to email the contact person listed for more information and how to meet Rumple, or to submit an online application. HART adopts to the local DC/VA/MD metro area only. Visit our website for more information about our adoption process.
