Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Say howdy to Ray, our floofy ray of sunshine! Ray is more than ready to find his furever family. Ray has good manners, understands his basic cues, and is very eager to please. You got treats? - Ask him to sit and he will go bum down and head tilted waiting like a good boy for his reward - what's not to love about that?! Just like his namesake, Ray is a ball of sunshine and playfulness, and he has this special talent of spreading joy and happiness wherever he goes. This sweet boy is always eager for some enthusiastic playtime with his foster siblings, and will lay down to play with the smaller pups! Ray is also content to entertain himself with a variety of toys. Once you see the fun he has with toys, it is almost impossible not to join in the play with Ray. He also walks well on leash, does fine on car rides, and tolerates brushing (he has an easy-to-maintain medium-length coat!). He enjoys the air conditioning, but also likes being outside as well, so a secure, 5’ privacy fenced-in yard would be great (he can climb chain-link). Ray is a confident pup, not showing any fears or dislikes, and he doesn’t dig. This lovely boy is quite the smart cookie, and he will thrive in a medium-to-highly active household without little kids (teens only), where his people will work with him to learn new tricks. We are pawsitive that Ray will be your best adventure buddy in no time! NGPR Pooch Profile Name: Ray in NJ Age: 4 yrs 4 mos old as of April 2026 Color: White Dew Claws: Yes, Double Estimated Adult Weight: 100 - 120 lbs   Current Location: NGPR approved foster in Hillsborough, NJ Medical: Neutered, dewormed, negative for heartworm, up-to-date on vaccinations, currently on flea, tick, and heartworm preventative. Fees: Adoption fees are determined on a sliding scale depending on age, location and transport. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you call or e-mail you are reducing your chances of adopting this animal as we direct our time and energy to first serving those who apply. NYS Registered Non-Profit Rescue # RR102. National Great Pyrenees Rescue (NGPR) has been rescuing and adopting out Great Pyrenees since 2006. Our relationship doesn’t end with adoption, as we continue to support adopters throughout the lifetime of their dog. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. We have many Pyrs and Pyr mixes who need homes. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.*** Check Out My Video Album Below! *** Meet Snowman, a fluffy white Pyr boy whose sunny disposition will melt your heart faster than a snowflake on a warm day! This gentle giant was found wandering along the highway with his brother, and though their original owner was located, they were surrendered because these adventurous boys just wouldn't stay put at home. Now Snowman is currently in boarding, dreaming of a foster or forever home where he can finally settle down and spread his winter joy. Despite his wandering past, he's pretty good on leash and would do well with a 5-foot fence to keep him safely in his new kingdom. Snowman is an absolute sweetheart with people—his tail is always wagging like a happy snow flurry, and while he might be a touch shy when meeting new friends at first, he warms up beautifully. He's wonderful with other dogs, remarkably gentle with cats (giving them curious sniffs with his cold nose), and would be great with older kids who can appreciate his sweet, loving nature. This good boy adores pets and attention, and when he's not soaking up affection, you'll find him contentedly watching the birds as they fly the skies. His housebreaking status is unknown since he's been in boarding, but with those sweet manners and eagerness to please, Snowman is ready to be the perfect addition to a loving home that can give him the stability and warmth he so craves!
