Story
Meet the world's most lovable "tough guy" with absolutely zero tough-guy energy!Brutus may sound like he belongs in an action movie, but in reality, he's a young, silly, wiggly goofball who just wants to play and make you laugh. His favorite hobbies include victorious games of tug and doing his signature high-speed zoomies-complete with circle spins that look a bit like a happy tornado on four legs.Because Brutus is still learning about the world (and about his own size), he can be a little jumpy when he's excited. He'll need a family who's ready for his big enthusiasm and can help him continue learning good manners. He's also working on his leash skills-right now he thinks walks are a full-body workout for everyone involved-so patient, confident adopters will help him shine. Due to his size, Brutus is looking for an adult only home where he is the only animal. If you're looking for a big-hearted, goofy, affectionate companion who will fill your days with laughter and play, Brutus may just be your perfect match. He's ready to learn, ready to love, and so ready to find his forever family. Please submit an application to make an appointment to see Brutus. Primary Color: Brown Secondary Color: Black Weight: 48.5 Age: 0yrs 10mths 3wks

Story
About Grizzly Grizzly has spent a few weeks in foster care and is settling in beautifully! He's a calm, gentle giant who loves cuddles, even if he doesn't quite realize just how big he is. Grizzly has met a few dogs and is generally social with smaller ones, but he can be reactive toward larger males. Because of his size and strength, we're currently looking for a home without other pets while he continues building confidence and working on his training. Training & Support Grizzly is already showing promise with his manners and is respectful around cats. He's still learning his leash skills, so continued positive, reward-based training will help him become more comfortable and reliable on walks. Gentle guidance, patience, and consistency will go a long way in helping him shine. A home with a yard would be ideal, giving him a safe space to practice his leash skills and stretch his legs. Ideal Home Grizzly would do best in a calm home without other pets, where his people can focus on his training and give him plenty of love and attention. His new family should be prepared for a big dog who is equal parts cuddly and strong, and who thrives with gentle guidance. With time, patience, and structure, Grizzly will blossom into a loyal, affectionate companion. ------------------------------------------------------- Ready to Meet Grizzly? Ready to Meet Grizzly? Story
Let me introduce myself...I am Duke and I was found in Mission by my previous loving rescuer about 9 months ago. I was severely under weight but I have since gained back that weight and a sense of joy in living. My previous rescuer couldn't keep me because I and the other dog in the household have recently not been getting along. I was then placed elsewhere about 3 hrs out of Vancouver.  I am praised for being wonderful with all people, including young children. I love cuddles, forest adventures, and often acting goofy to the point where I will make my humans laugh. I am still learning recall but I do know sit, stay, lie down, and shake a paw. Here are a few specifics about me: Weight: 120 lbs      Age: 6 yrs old      Height:  TBC       Breed:  Great Pyrenees/mastiff       Energy level:  moderate Leash-walking: Yes but please be ready to help me learn even more     House-trained: Yes, but please help me to learn in my new home. Fears: sometimes I will cower if there is a sudden movement made by someone around me. Even though my history is largely unknown, it is apparent that I was likely hit. As a result, I have some lingering separation anxiety but I would love my new adopter to help me to recover from that. Until I get some help, I'm hoping I can come with my humans when they go out as I just love car rides. I am needing to be the only dog in the household as I can have a moment of food aggression with other dogs being fed near me. In contrast, I have neighbours who are chickens and I have never shown any interest in these feathered folks.  I know that I'm not a perfect dog but I would love to meet you to show you what I do best, be it hugs, playfulness, or adoration! I am immunized, neutered, and microchipped.  My adoption fee is $750 plus taxes. I have been neuetered, vaccinated, and microchipped. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. ##2466535##
