Story
Meet Tess — our gentle, wiggly Mastiff girl!Tess was found running around Auburn before being brought safely to our shelter, and we’ve all fallen for her sweet, gentle nature. She can be a little shy when meeting new people, but once she realizes she’s safe, her whole personality blossoms — soft eyes, slow tail wags, and full-body wiggles included. She seems to do great with larger dogs, but small dogs and small animals aren’t a good fit for her. Toys are her absolute favorite, and it’s adorable to watch her pick out her favorites. She’s also growing braver every day on her walks and gaining confidence outside.Tess is truly a special girl who just needs someone patient, kind, and ready to love a gentle giant. Come meet her — she might just be your new best friend. An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $200.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.Cats and kittens are a donation of choice.

Story
Ruger is a 3 yr old male. He has been raised with dogs, cats, kids. He is very well behaved and listens well. He has experience being home alone for 10-12 hours a day and will not use the restroom until he is let out- he may chew shoes or pillows if alone too many days for extended time. He is crate trained, but hasn’t been in one for a couple months. He does drool but not as much as expected with his breed. He’s been fine being an only dog the last couple months, but it is not what he is accustomed to. He gets along with our cats, but does occasionally chase them. He tends to be skittish at first when meeting new people but once he opens up, he is so extremely lovable. He deserves a home that provides him with love, cuddles and attention!! He loves the water so bathtime is a breeze. He sits for nail trims. He absolutely loves car rides! He loves swimming in ponds and pools. He loves to play fetch and do tricks! Story
Meet Jack: A Diamond in the Rough Looking for His Person At just one year old, Jack is still discovering that the world isn’t such a scary place. Because he didn’t get much socialization as a puppy, he starts off a bit "introverted" and cautious around new faces. But here is the secret: once Jack decides you’re his person, he transforms into the ultimate snuggle bug. He is a sweet, soulful boy who just needs a patient leader to show him the ropes. If you have a quiet home and a big heart, Jack will reward you with a lifetime of loyal tail wags and cozy couch cuddles.
